just wondering if having a small hole in my exhaust pipe after the cat but before the muffler will increase power any. i tried to fix it before, but it just blew the patch away. it is not a real problem i am just wondering

 

size of hole? penny? fifty cent piece? smaller than a pencil? probably wont effect performance too much depending on the size of the hole

 

about the size of a penny. what really got me is that it blew the entire patch off, rather than just a hole in it, and this was about two weeks after i patched it!

 

they sell a patch that you can wrap completely around the pipe...it looks kind of like a cast for an arm or something......try that one....but it being a penny size, i wouldn't worry about it unless you cant stand the sound, and it probably isn't too loud anyway

 

I would just weld it up. Or buy a patch kit that uses clamps. That should hold it. But if it's rusting there, the rest of the system is probably bad too. Better start considering a new catback soon.

 

yeah i should but it is a piece of junk car right now which has more important things (like fuel injectors) that i nedd to worry about

 

Ah a patch kit "MIGHT" be $10?
