You have GXE 93. In your case I beleive it can be either of them. Call dealership. They can find this out based on your VIN.

How many miles ago was last timing belt change?

If I remember correctly, the square ribbed belts have liftime of around 60,000 miles, whereas the round ribbed ones (Because they have less stress on the ribs) are rated to 100,000 miles.

My '92 VG has square ribs. My '97 Pathfinder (also VG engine) had round ribs.

If you have to change your timing belt every 60k, you probably have square ribs.

My VG30E -93 has now square Gates5146 41133x1. Nissan dealer 400$ [grrr... I can ruin my car miself, free!] had installed a round one at 5year jubileum... that was noisy. I did NOT put round belt on square teeth.

Are you saying it cost $400 for timing belt change at your dealer?!?!? The two dealers around here charge $600 and $750! Forget about asking them to replace the waterpump, they will tell you that it will cost extra hour or two of labor...
