Yet another Saab cup holder install

I got a Saab cupholder/coin tray over a year ago. I read on this forum that people were putting it in their 3rd gens.

I was cleaning out my basement, and found it, and I was bored today, so after about 45 min, finally!
BTW, I think a dremmel is a man's best friend...

Thought I'd finally post a picture of my Max before people think I was pretending to own one...

Picture with new cup holder, and oh yeah, I also installed Electrochromatic mirror and EL gauge overlays last year.

what a waste of a double din slot. go to macdonalds and get a cardboard cup holder. those work great, plus you can toss them in the back when you don't need it. let's see some customizing man, a cupholder really doesn't count

The cup holder is because my wife is going to drive the car in the mornings and the 3rd gen was never made to have a cupholder. I'd like for her to have her coffee in the morning. As for the cardboard from McD's, that's the reason why my brother-in-law's 5th gen has 6-8in coffee stains all over his carpet...

I thought the mirror was a waste, but when I drove a new '00 I30t for 3 monts before I gave it to my mom, it was one of those little things that you don't think matters but is annoying to not have anymore. I have put auto-dimming mirrors in all cars I ever got my hands on... I need help...

Oh yeah, the leather on the seat, I got it for $60 for both seats but they were manual (I had cloth power), so I re-upholstered the leather onto my power seats. While doing that, I added aftermarket seat heaters. I know it's no HUD (by the way, Craig you rock!), but hey whatever floats my boat...

I hardwired phone charger so taht I'd have an open cigarette lighter (not that I smoke...), is that considered a mod? No? Damn it...

Actually, I really don't smoke. Never did, but I just have problem with the charger plugged into the lighter socket. It looks... Messy. I like the factory virgin look, that's why for my heated seats, I got 4th gen switches and wired them up instead of the aftermarket switches (alas, no factory heated seat switches for 3rd gens exist, although I thought about using two foglamp switches and replacing the foglight icon with my own silkscreening, but darn it, I need a two setting switch!).

Anyway, I like things looking factory virgin (or as close as possible). I think I must have OCD. I really think I need help...

Messy it is, always smtg hanging there...

On/off sw is enough for seat heaters. I've the originals three pos switches, never use but on/off. After coldstart as the seat is warm, no need for heater, my motor keeps it warm.

"factory virgin": The only problem is that theres no absolutes...

OCD?

I had a post a while back about custom cup holders and asked if anyone had them. everyone told me to use the saab or the taurus.

I am going to fiberglass a whole new center console and I will add some cup holders in with all of that. I want the cup holders for a totally different reason than to use it to hold my drinks when I need them held. when I get done it will look very nice

Hey when you are done, please post pics. We like pics.

Wiking: OCD = Obsessive Compulsive Disorder...
You know, when you keep running back to your car to see if you indeed locked it? And then I guess one gets remote lock/unlock, but then if your OCD is really bad, I guess you would sit there about a half a block away pressing away at the lock button because the "honk/chirp and the flashing lights" are not reassurance enough that you did indeed lock it...

me too
I hardwired my charger and hid it under the center console. The plug comes out underneath the ebrake handle and then I rest my phone in that little tray to charge it. Works out pretty well
