yea a cat doesn't ever make you run better, its only there for environmental reasons.

IIRC, Aaron noticed a difference in his 1/4 mile time, but I think it was minimal. Definitely not anything noticeable on the butt dyno going with a test pipe or a high flow cat.

I think the price on a high flow cat is cheaper than a regular one, so I would go that route if you think yours needs replaced. However, I would fix whatever is causing your cat to clog first.

I don't think it's clogged. It's just that my car has 133K on the clock and i have the original cat. on there. I just figured it might be time to replace it. in the meantime the car is not giving me any signs that the cat might need to be replaced. I just figured that i might feel a slight difference with a new high flow cat on there as opposed to one that has 133K on it.

Yeah. I have compared my stock cat and my testpipe many times. I shaved exactly 1 tenth in the 1/4 mile. I lose noticable low end power on the street and I gain noticable top end power. So you can tell a difference. The low end loss is actually more noticable since you spend 90% of your time below 4K rpm. Well, personally, I only spend 50% of my time below 4K since my throttle is an ON/OFF switch.

I have switched from test pipe to high flow a bunch of times and I am keeping the high flow this time. It is much quieter and I like to know I am not polluting the air, I do not notice much of a difference between the two and not much of a difference between stock and high flow cat. I would leave it alone unless you are boosting.
