DO NOT BUY $70 EBAY "COILOVERS"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Especially for ones from another car that doesnt' fit ours properly!
Look around at all the horror stories online of spring perches coming apart, snapping springs, etc etc. absolute crapola. stay away.

I wasn't going to get the EBAY versions I'd rather pay more from the company, or authorized dealer. Just in case it doesn't work out too long. I can't stand ebay junk.

Thing is... it could work. Don't know till we try. I'm first going to wait and see if I have orders to Germany first. Pointless in installing them, then let the car sit for 3-4 years.

I skimmed through this thread again. That was an OEM strut off a Maxima you put the coil over onto right? Which means I'd still have to get new shock assembly. My struts are the originals.

Now the question is, would it still work if I put Koni's in? Oh... and the price dropped from $70 to $30 on ebay... I'm looking around for a different manufacturer.

Of course... just a good way just to test. I know a guy with a Spec V on base. I could get the coilovers... install them, see if there's a problem with alignment afterwards. Any other little problem matic things come up. If it just doesn't work... buy the eibach springs and sell the coilovers off to him.

If 93turbo gxe said they stiffen the ride up a lot, and those are stock struts... imagine the ride with Koni's.

Game plan... check for my orders... if it falls through, and I end up in SD a lot longer... the guinea pig season is a go. I need a new suspension anyway.

I will take one for the Maxima team...

I'm still browsing through sites deciding which company I want to use. Also, I know Matt will agree. This is something you may not want to try. I'm not fully expecting this to work. I'm only going through with it because I have someone lined up to buy the coilovers if there's a major issue that comes up.

Matt hasn't tried these coilovers yet... and he's gone too far down one path to start back over. He's invested a lot of time and money to getting the setup he has now.

Here's the low down so far... the coilovers will fit on our car, the ride is stiff. But we have no idea what the long term effects are. Like if the car can be brought into the right specs for alignment. How it handles on all surfaces, and weather conditions. How bad must the condition be for the strut to bottom out. Will there be a problem of springs breaking... or unseating.

I have a good feeling that something will not dial in just right with these coilovers. But hopefully these might require less modification to work. We'll see.

Just sit back and wait for awhile. Matt was telling me he is getting close to having everything worked out. And he'll post up everything needed to get a setup to work.

Tein doesn't offer coilovers for the J30 Max... no one does anymore. Otherwise I would of had a set sent over from Japan... I got a buddy stationed at Kadena.

Tein only has A32 and A33. Different style from our J30
