VQ question since my original post was deleted from the VQ section........
This guy at my work say that his Altima is drive by wire instead of the standard throttle cable. I said there is no way and that the only cars that I know that have drive by wire T.B.'s are the 05 V6/V8 Mustangs. Does anybody know or have a Maxima/Altima that has the VQ35DE in it so that I can rest assured that one of us is right? I know someone in this forum has to have one.

What does drive by wire entail? I though the gas was directly connected to the wire that opens the butterflies. Oh well im no expert, just curious...

Almost any relatively newer luxury car will have it. Slowly but surely lower end cars are starting to adopt it too.

pretty much all the VQ35 cars have them... I think the only one that doesn't is the pathfinder. ??
I know for a fact they're on the 350, G35, and 5.5 gen Maxima....
and it sucks.. tap the gas pedal and let off and there's an obvious lag in the torttle response.. it's a ***** to launch a 5.5 gen max at the track between that and the horribly soft suspension bushings.... uncontrollable revving and wheel hop like crazy. yuck.
