Anybody know anything about this product or is this just another ebay scam junk part? Thanks http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...971877491&rd=1
save your money dude; the VG is a cast iron block. Heat is going to invade your intake manifold no matter what. Even if the gasket changes the intake manifold by couple of degrees, you won't notice it and it DEFINETLY will not be worth the time spent tearing down to gain something noticeable.
the intake is 2 degrees cooler

...see explanations for the [numbers] and lots other pics for the cooling circ at:

.
the intake has coolant passages to warm up the air intake charge when the engine is cold. it helps get the engine to operating temperature faster, and it reduces cold engine emissions <- main reason.

That is rili true (er... stupidity).
When some go wanting real pwr [turbo], they even get the intercooler to counterattack that heating stupidity (and turbo compr heat) <- main problem...
All that enormous heat exhange-game bck and forth is paid at the pump. But stupidity continues as humans still cannot figure out how to evaporize gasolin particles evenly to air...
Apparently, this mod has been well documented on other cars. I already showed Aaron this ebay link. But he made one for the upper manifold not the lower. The good think about this one is it doesn't seem to change and dimensions like Aaron's upper manifold mod. But the thing is, the additional thickness also helped prevent heat transfer.
For the upper manifold, the Ve doesn't have any coolant lines going though it.

Well then you have some choices to make:
1) Believe him and buy it.
2) Don't believe him and don't buy it.
3) Think about if it really does help or not and keep researching.
I for one am undecided so far. But I like Aaron's upper spacer idea. You have to change some stuff to accomodate the higher height though.

It's like phenolic spacers on any other Port injected engine.....heat soak will heat the intake anyway....but when at the track....if you are gonna push the car through the lanes and ice the intake....it may help for an extremely little difference. maybe something to get when you are already there replacing gaskets
since we're on the topic of ebay ?'s
anyone know if these suckers 'll fit?

chrischeezer has led 1157 bulbs, im thinking of getting them, as i rewired my corners to be bright all the time and they dont match my silver stars, so im gonna get some of those bulbs.
buy some for me too
buy some for me too
im trying to make my own intake spacer(s) to go with my ported and polished intake
1157 bulbs are much brighter! but get good ones, because I've seen crappy ones that dont put out much light.
-off topic, i have a mirror polished valve cover... and im almost done with the upperintake.. both polished to chrome and I'm getting all the bolts powercoated dark gold/bronze... my motor is going to be a bomb

I did this just for my upper IM and my TB. Both spacers were 1/4" thick and made of Teflon, which has great thermal characteristics and resist chemicals and has a broad heat range.
As for the upper IM temp... you can drive for 5 minutes and have the upper IM heat up to about the same as the lower IM... around 180 degrees. OR you can install this spacer and race your car HARD for an hour and have an upper IM temp of around 120 degrees!! It's seriously cool enough to touch your forehead to! Try doing that after racing your car for an hour without this plastic spacer!
Bottom line is, they are proven to work. But I can't vouch for this particular product. The guy doesn't tell anybody what they are made of. I've already talked to him and his communication didn't impress me. He's just like any other average ebay seller out there... doesn't know crap about his product. He might know about his product, but he doesn't say anything.
Too bad he doesn't make them for the VE or I would buy a set. I asked him to make a set, but he said he doesn't make them. He wouldn't tell me where he gets them from either. He simply ignored my email. That always pisses me off.
