Bring it back Part2 (Rough Idle)

Well we are working on bringing back a 92 SE with 200,000 miles on it.

So far this is what we have done.

1) Changed plugs to NGK Plats with .39 gap
2) Oil Change
3) Cleaned TB
4) Changed Air filter
5) Made sure all coil packs were working and they are.

So why is the car idleing between 1500 and 2000 rpm? The idle isnt that smooth either.

Possibilities? Maybe Vacumm Leak? Maybe Idle Air Control valve? PCV valve?

What do you guys think/recommened I do?

Well, as someone on here says, for diagnotics you need to keep in mind three things that an engine needs; fuel, air and spark. You have checked the spark, and done minor maintenance on air. You could replace the pcv (cheap), and check out the iacv, timing and a bunch of other stuff that I don't know about. You should check to see if the engine is getting fuel (as in injectors). If I am missing something, at least you got a free bump.

yeah if its idleing consistantly around the 2000 range and not surging or bouncing all around, then I would look at the IAC Valve. Gain access to it and spray the hell out of it with carb cleaner and get it all cleaned out. The car does have 200,000 on it so its not gonna idle like a new car, but if the idle is high like that then Im thinkin that the IAC is stuck open from miles and mile of dirt. Good Luck

IAC on the VE is located directly below the throttle body, to bad u already put it back together cuz ur gona have to rip it out again in order to get to the IAC. Hard to discribe wut it looks like, about the size of 2 decks of cards with hoses goin every which way and the valve
