exhaust noises
I've been talking to some people on how a louder muffler would be nice, but the noise in my car would not. Now I know you can wrap your exhaust... but...
** what do you wrap it with?
** What part of the exhaust would have to be wrapped (part of it or all of it)? Where can you find the material needed?
**What does a resonator actually do?
** I hear it quiets your exhaust, now does it kill performance too?
** where does it quiet the exhaust the most (inside the car? outside of the car? both?)

Btw. I hate to wake up at 3am to yall ppl... Power is NOT noise - Pwr is Nice.
"...do you wrap it with? "
pls wrap it with smtg flammable - in case your new muffless noise level wakes the neighborhood...
"...resonator actually do?"
The exhaust pipe is a fluctuating pressure channel, full of myriad wavelenght reflected noises and pressure highs/lows. Resonator mirrors selected wavelenghts so that they get zapped: low peak + high peak =zer0. This affects noise as well as flow. Well tuned will enhace some features, wrong resonator kills performance. The whole engine is an instrument and has to be balanced: Intake - engine - exhaust. Worst link defines how the system works.
