lots of problems lots of money

i went to the shop to get my car aligned and foudn out that to do that i will need new controle arms/bushings/ball joints/hub bearings. and that he will charge me 960 to do it all including alignment..now i can get all the parts my self for around 300. but i also need cv shafts and boots/rotars and breaks/and a tie rod......now my question is, is the car even worth putting all that work and money into it?

also for all you guys with bad idle problems check where your cap and roater were made.....i was told thatif it is from italy that is a huge problem because most the time the elec..jumps so get one from the dealeror make sure it is not from italy....

Try to do most if not all the work yourself. That will save you a bunch of money and gain you some experience...experience is something that you cannot buy....

I would be a little sceptical. maybe you should get another opinion from another shop. Rarely would all of that stuff be wrong with your car, rarely would both wheel bearings be bad.
just my $.02

Try Internetautomar for pricing. Fortunately, most of the stuff you need to change is in the exact same area. Break it all down and reinstall with new stuff.

if all that stuff is really bad, and you cant work on the car yourself, I would sell the car. $1k is kinda steep for that work. Get another estimate if you dont want to go under the car yourself.

Absolutely do the work yourself. You'll have to get an alignment when you're done, but it's all within your ability if you can turn a wrench.

There are a few places where you'll need a second set of hands, but all those items are fairly easy to fix.
