Injen CAI for 3rd Gen only $5000 !!!

So I emailed Injen and asked them how many orders or how much it would take to get a CAI made for the 3rd gen maxima. This is the email they sent back.

"Cost would be a minimum of $5000.00 due to research and development, dyno testing, flow testing, manufacturing the jig etc."

So if 50 of us drop $100 they will start making one. Anybody up for this? No?...

I think the only people that would be interested already have some kind of intake already fabbed up. I don't think even 50 people would be interested if everyone that actively uses this forum still had the stock air box.

If it was a Ram Air I would do it. But they'd also have to include the hood scoop.

Well the point wasn't that there aren't other options available, you can get CAI's all over the place. The point is that this would be Injen engineered. They get a 3rd Gen Max and dyno the **** out of different designs till they get it right. You think WSP does that?

so they can get maybe 4 hp instead of the usual 1.625 hp?
just design your own and feel like you've accomplished something, it feels a lot better than buying something.

Ebay intakes....

Short Ram
Cold Air

Those intakes will fit VG's

Maf adapter

If you dont like the filter thats supplied; just buy a universal K&N cone filter for about $50

If you know how to cut metal tubing, just look at your engine bay and figure out the best place to make it work.

I think if you do a little digging there are pictures of MrGone's engine bay (or maybe Jeff's!) somewhere in these forums.

Ya so I'm paranoid and lazy!! Just too many "this is an easy mod" experiences in the past. I guess, since Jeff never responded he isnt interested in making the quick buck. Naw just BS'n. I guess I'll have to study and make my own. ( no really Jeff just make one for me )

Uh... yea have you seen the 4th g design? Absolute GARBAGE! They probably didnt dyno it once with their intake on. You're probably better off with what is already available or that $5000 will be used to re-badge something thats already out there with Injen's name on it.
