I got a timing light and positioned it at 15deg. What's wierd is that the CPS is almost advanced all the way like on Craig's site. I have a JWT ECU. Also when it is at 15 deg. I hear a spontaneous sound from the exhaust that sounds like a small bubble flowing through some water, is that a backfire of some sort? When I retard the timing I don't hear it anymore.
Any ideas?

Did u read the timing marks right? CPS signal is ok - Grounding is ok?

Plug - CoilPack - ECU -condition?

The timings marks are right. When I move around the CPS I see the timing marks move accordingly so it is probably working fine. I have a grounding kit on there and made sure all the wires are clean and tight. When I remove each plug I can hear the misfire in each coil. So probably the coil and the plug are fine. The ECU is a week old from JWT. What else could be the problem?

- I agree. And if its signal to ECU was warped, it would do the 'misfire' all the time as the CPS itself 'does not know' anythin about ign...
- measuring supply voltages will not hurt: also take alt wires out for testing (exclude possible alt spikes -problem)

Manufacturing questions is easy:
- gas is ok?
- what is plug type & mileage & gap? (relatively easy to swap)
- why JWT ECU? Is stock ECU available (=same probl???)
