Ibring apologies for English. Studyng how you alter Nissan Maxima I started to reconstruct the Nissan Maxima SE 1989 and that has turned out. Under reference I under a name Oleg Custom.
http://www.clubmaxima.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6987
Now I want to establish the turbine, but we in Ekaterinburg city not have necessary automobile details and experts capable to increase force of my engine up to 300-350 hp. I hope for your help.

NismoMAN69, nice car. Where abouts in MD do you live? I used to live in College Park. Also, what car was that bumper originally for? Looks decent. Thinking of installing foglights?

Thanks for the comments...Well I live in Hagerstown which is about 1 hr 45 mins west of B-more. The bumper is actually off of a 2002 Suzuki Aerio HB. I have the fog lights and am waiting for a nice day to put them on.

New member making introductions

Hello everyone. My name is Doug. I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and have recently became a first-time Maxima owner. It is a '98, 3.0L engine, auto tranny, analog dash, digital AC and a sunroof. It just rolled over 200,000 miles. I just bought it last week as a drive-to-work car. Like many cars that have been on the road for 15 years, it has needs.

I am very excited about finding this site. The knowledge that is passed here is overwhelming. I have been just reading through the posts, piecing together a little here and there and finding info related to my specific problems. I may have to just create new threads for my problems, as I have not directly seen "The answer to all my problems" hahah

I am looking forward to meeting the mod's and contributing members of this site. I already feel much better about having the right knowledge base on hand to fix up "Maxine".

Have a great day. I'll see ya'll on the boards.

congrats on your first maxima! This page is in the 3rd gen section, for 1989-1994. All the info for your 4th Gen (1995-1999) is over here -> http://forums.maxima.org/forumdisplay.php?f=6

or was the "98" a typo for "89"?

HAHA Hey guys. Yeah after I read it just now, I realized I did write 98. It is indeed a 93. Thanks for the warm welcome.

I have several issues I will be addressing across the coming weeks.
My hot one right now is the no-tail lights and no-dash lights.

I bought and downloaded a shop manual with tons of schemes and very helpful and useful info. I am beginning to think, after some amount of poking around under the dash, that my problem is in the combo-switch. I work a swing shift and drive home in the dark. I have noticed the past two nights that the tails were burning when I arrived. With the engine off, I turned the lights off 3 or 4 times. Each time the tails came on. Then they didn't. lol

I haven't had enough time set aside to take the dash out and investigate those lights. In the mean time, while I solve the tail light dilema, I am open to suggestions on how to tackle those instrument cluster lights without pulling the dash.

Thanks again for noticing that I had arrived and making me feel at home. I am looking forward to learning more about this car.

check your fuse then change the brake light bulbs. they're 1157 bulbs. that'll solve both your problems. the dash lights go out to alert you that the tail lights are out.

Check the tail light bulb sockets. they have been known to corrode and blow the fuse that controls the tail lights and dash lights.

All fuses are good. I checked all the rear bulbs with my meter. They are all good, although I do have one suspicious looking socket in the back. But like I said, for the past two nights, they were on... but no dash lights.
I'm going to clean that one socket up today, and also check the front marker bulbs and sockets. I also discovered that the passenger headlight does not burn on bright. Probably just needs the element replaced. Can that factor in?

I have another question for you guys. This may or may not tie into my lighting problem. I want to identify a componet under the dash. I believe that it is part of the anti-theft system. It is a small black box, roughly the size of a deck of cards. A big multi-wire plug down the length, 3 jacks on the end to plug wires in. The bottom has a "directory" of the wire assignments that include doors, lights, trunk, horn, siren, and so on. There are many wires cut off of this module. On the end where the 3 small jacks are (a red, a white, and a blue), I noticed that 1 conductor from the red jack is pulled out of the male connector. It plugs into a port labled L.E.D.
With the car and light switch on, I touched the wire to the end of the connector with it plugged in to the module to see if it would effect my tails, but of course, no such luck.

The multi-wire plug has a white wire (labled as lights or parking lights) that leaves the module and goes through an in-line type fuse holder. The 5 amp'er in it is good. I don't think I have any power going to this thing at all. I'm just not sure what the thing does, if it is even needed, or how the lack of it may be effecting my problems. Any input on this would be very helpful. I should also mention that the radio has been removed, and there is some "creative wiring" going on under the dash.

Overall, it's sounds worse than it probably is. I am an electrician of 20 years plus, and have always strayed from auto electrical troubleshooting. Too many wires that go to too many places that you can't see. LOL But I will keep plugging away at it. Thank you in advance to all of you who may be able to help me out on my lighting project.
