Wow, is all I have to say. I do hope you're planning a write-up for the rest of us when you have time

That alone could save the life of the 3rd gen community. Great job, hoping to see a driving video soon.

now just imagine if he had it turbo'd too.... that would maybe make a few of the new-genners think twice about their beam-axle wagons?

what mods have you done?
probably need to get it dyno'ed to find out. there are so many engine variations on the gxe, that a search would yield nothing.

Not an owner....yet, but I'm getting one back on the road. I'm working on a 89 SE...I think. It has all the power stuff, 5speed, sunroof, and runs really well. I'm replacing clutch, full suspension, and a few other nick nacks to get it on the road for my wife's friend.

Since finding this forum, I've decided I need a new DD, which will likely be a 3rd or 4th gen Max! god I love these cars.

Currently, my wife and I are driving a 91 Infiniti M30 *my wife's* and a 93 240SX with silvia conversion and some other mods *mine*

1990..not sure what engine/version..as the car was given to me for a winter beater!!..lol..but I have wanted this car since I was in HS..(except I wanted a manual..but hey, beggers cannot be choosers).

I joined the forum to figure out to remove my damn key from the ingnition..now that that is solved!!(forum vet, so I can search like a champ..haha)..rofl...I may have to look around.

Car is actually great...Faster than my 2004 impala.....and runs amazing....I will post some pictures, though, it's not a whole lot to see, but its a max..what can I say?..

all 3 of those were options on the GXE.
He has an SE, because the grill is body color, the window trim is black rather than chrome, and the mirrors are black rather than body color. PLUS no keypad on the door

nono, you have an SE. Internetautomar said those 3 items were options on GXE's meaning "therefore you can't identify a car based on any of those 3 things" cuz both SE and GXE can have sunroof, spoiler, and foglights. But only the SE had the black door mirrors, black window trim, and bodycolor grille. Also on the 89-91 the SE has a clear outer shell on the taillights with red behind it, and the middle panel is black. GXE rear end looks like this:
