it was a pretty straight forward swap. it was already lowered and clean, he had a lot of plans for it too so i gave it up. i wanted a max because i was tired of the little boy honda scene. been driving nothing but honda's all my life so i decided to get something semi-luxury and adult like

Newbe here with two new purchases!

Just bought my 7th Maxima/I30-35. The week before last I bought a 99 GLE with 115k that someone jumped a curb and bent control arms, broke wheels, busted A/C compressor and who knows what else. Runs good tho, and at $750 I think I did ok.
Then this week I stopped by the old mans house down the street for the second time in two years to see if he was ready to sell his 93 Maxima with 126k that has been sitting for at least 3yrs. After giving him $1000, and installing a new battery, it started right up and I drove it home. He gave me the window sticker with it. It's not perfect tho, he replaced one bank of injectors sometime in the past and they do not match the original ones. I do not know if that is the problem, but it runs too rich and has NO power at all. I did a little troubleshooting to rule out o2 sensor and MAF. I am leaning towards biting the bullet and buying a full set of injectors as a base line.

I just got my hands on a '93 Maxi. I plan to give it a good "going over" then give it to someone in need. I have a needy family picked out but not sure where to start.

I started the car today and it is missing. Let the work begin.

Also the stereo is messed up, that Bose system that belches out a loud horn sound as soon as it's turned on. When I turn the stereo up loud, I can hear a little music in the background but the horn sound coming through the speaker is constant is the loudness is NOT effected by the volume ****. As soon as I turn the stereo off the horn sound goes away.

There are a couple more things I am going to work out with it but if it has a timing belt, I guess I'll be looking at that first.

ok i got givin a 91 maxima and its an Australian model and im wondering if you can use a 5 speed trans axle from a jap/euro or watever to replace the auto cause in aus they only came out with the auto, and is this simple without cuting/modding
and where can i get aftermarket camshafts for the vg30e and will the same shafts for a 300zx fit in the maxima?

ASSUMING (and this is a HUGE assumption) that the fact that your car is RHD doesn't cause any issues mounting the clutch pedal and clutch master cylinder... then yes it is possible.

you will need the clutch pedal and all clutch hydraulics, the trans and its mounts/brackets, clutch, flywheel, shifter assembly, and will need to rewire the reverse lights and drill a ~38mm hole and 2 8-10mm holes for the clutch master cylinder. Here is my gallery from when i did it on my US-spec (LHD) GXE

Hi everyone. I just picked up this '94 Maxima last week from my father's best friend. He's had it since brand new, 17 years, and it's been stored in a heated garage it's entire life. Not a speck of rust, has the original paint, even the original exhaust in good condition! 218K on it, automatic (so my girlfriend could drive it) All it needed was the water pump replaced, which I got a pump for $32 and installed it myself. Only paid $400 for it!! It's a great family car, and then I have my lowered '89 Prelude to myself. Here it is:

future mods for my 93 ve

i have yet another problem, my 93 maxima both front sruts just collapsed overnight.
the car was parked about 35*f outside. theres no electronics air etc. they just collapsed and are now sucking the springs fully compressed even when lift the car with a jack... this makes for a very dangerous situation. when i push brakes to stop, the lack of any suspension travel makes car bouncy and it skids very badly. top rated car my @#$ theres not a part on this car that hasnt failed. they should all be crushed and recycled to make licence plates or something.

so im thinking of doing a few mods of my 93 maxima ve, ive included a few pics of what it might look like afterwards.

Wat up everyone! Good to have found this place my 93 maxima needs alot of love haha. It was my moms but kinda took it over because she has another car anyways. The maxima has I think 300k on it now not to sure the guages stopped working at 250k over a year ago haha. Second tranny 3 windows dont work radio doesnt work climatr control guage kinda works I can control the air put the display is gone. gunna make it my daily driver so im hoping to get some decent milage out of it soon. 120 miles a day can take a toll on the bank account especially when your broke.

My name is Josh. Purchased my '89 Maxima just a couple weeks ago. It's a little project cause the battery is completely dead and so is the fuel pump. I'll be replacing the battery and upgrading to a Walbro 190. Picked it up for $400, so I'm definitely not complaining with having to spend $150 or so for two parts.

My only issue is not knowing if it's an SE or GXE. I've searched and searched. But I get so many different answers.

Anyways. On to my photos.

Hello and welcome.

Looks like it's 99.9% definitely an SE. GXEs don't have manual trans from the factory.

As far as I can tell, everything is all stock on this. I bought it from a car lot that got this as a trade in, no history on it at all. From all that I've read online, I was sure it was an SE as well. Because of the manual and the white gauges.

Glad to know that it is an SE. I guess I'm gonna have to take it up to the Nissan dealership and have them run the VIN and see what they can come up with.

O'Fallon is pretty far from Spfd. Haha.

3Gen Max - 1990 SE

Hi everyone -
I'm the 3rd owner of my 1990 Max SE. I purchased it way back in 2002, north of Seattle and took it to Portland OR. At purchase, it had about 116k miles. Then I moved to Colorado Springs in 2004 (drove it all the way). In 2008 I moved to Atlanta, and just this last October (2012) I moved back to COS (drove both ways). Now, it has over 300k mi, but still runs well. There's little stuff that needs to be done that's annoying (like the visor spring needs to be replaced) but not a lot that's major mechanical.

Love my car. It's been the best - I do my utmost to keep it maintained, and the payoff has shown. When everyone else's new cars are broken down on the side of the road, mine's running just fine.

/ds

Just got my max 4 months ago, for 1200 bucks it runs like a champ and only had a few electrical problems. I plan to do some mods to it even though it has the inferior vg30 engine. Is it just me or do these cars seem like they were built better since Nissan was trying to prove something back then?

1990 (3rd Gen) Nissan Maxima GXE

Hello everyone. This is my first post on here, and I wanted to show some pics of my Maxima that I recently fixed up. With 201k miles, the timing belt slipped due to an on-going oil leak from the camshafts which resulted in the end of the crankshaft breaking off. At 65mph, this lead to massive piston, valve, and rocker arm damage so, I bought a used engine from a junkyard, put it in, and the Maxima is back to running great after almost 23 years!
