Which oil filter to use for oil change?

I read the sticky about the oil filter and there seems to be alot of talk about Toyota oil filter. I have always use Fram for my 92 gxe and since I am going to change oil before winter comes, I was wondering if I should use something better? Can I use the Toyota filter and what part number and how much and where can I get them? Would I really feel a difference using a Toyota filter compared to a Fram?

Thanks in advance. Btw, I fixed the bypass hose, refill antifreeze and the heater came back on, I think there was an air bubble. Good thing nothing else was wrong. Thanks for all your help! Very happy. Just a note to say thanks.

Hey my car also has a fram oil filter from last month from the shop but I plan on doing this oil change myself, I havent had any problems with this filter so far so I just might keep using fram.

Just another question to add, how many quarts do I need or are recommended for the VG engine?

The toyota [#90915-YZZF2] filter is used mainly for the VE{dohc} engine to help with vtc noise...your vg[sohc]engine does not have vtc's....You can use 90915-YZZF2 filter on the vg though....Dont use fram=garbage...

For the GXE, the stock Nissan Oil Filter 15208-55Y00 works just fine. That's what I've always used and the car runs great after 173K miles.

Interestingly, this particular filter was made in USA until about a year ago. Now this filter is made in Japan.

You don't HAVE to but a new crush washer for the drain plug is never a bad idea. Also once every other (or so ) oil change I wait for the old oil to drain, then I pour through about another quart slowly, just to get rid of anyother nasty particles that didnt get pulled down the drain.

FRAM sucks, the surface area is trash, and they are cheap crappy filters.
OIL FILTER INFORMATION
look up all oil filters here almost
http://minimopar.knizefamily.net/oilfilterstudy.html
this link should be a sticky.
Tells you the best oil filters, and every detail about them.

Well I'm no longer an oil change virgin, did it last night in my garage. Used Mobile 1 filter and pennzoil 10w30 as I heard from many people not to use sythetic on my car. Just though I'd brag that I know how to change my oil lol.
