Power windows

First off: yes, I know there's multiple problems like this posted all around the 3rd gen forum, but I wasn't able to find one like the problem I am experiencing.

I am able to roll down all of my windows from each door, except the drivers door. The drivers door will roll down the drivers window, and roll up all the other windows, but it will not roll the other three windows down. This may be due to the fact that I was cleaning my doors and dash with some cleaning solution about a week ago, so just today I pulled the window button panel out and sprayed some of it with WD-40, but no results. My exterior keypad is able to roll both passanger and driver window down, too. Any ideas???

My guess is, that you fried the master control on the drivers side.
There is alot of p/w master controls for sale on ebay and a few in here
I believe. Hope this helps some d.w.

You may have damaged it first with cleaning solution, but WD-40 is DEFINITELY NOT for spraying into electrical circuits. You might be able to take it totally apart and clean it up but I doubt it. Get a new (used) master switch.

clean up.

WD-40 is a good water drier but it's not good for switches. Go to Fry's or your local electronic supply store and get some electronic/PC bord cleaner. It comes in an aerosol can.

You are probably right, or it is bad.

I'd guess the wire came off the spool,
and that will almost certainly require a new regulator.
I've replaced 3 so far in 2 different maximas.

Do you happen to know if the whole unit is held together by adhesive, or is it possible to get to the circuits without destroying the unit?

My plans are to take it out and clean it up a little bit (today), if that's no good, then I plan on ordering a new one via ebay.

Thanks for the help! Much appreciated.

It will all come apart with screws and unsnapping. Go over to Carroll radio supply on 6th street and get some electronics spray cleaner.

You can start a thread after 15 posts. In your case it sounds like maybe you are losing a motor or you need lubed. Take off your door panel and inspect/lube the regulators. Lube the cable guides and the track. If the guides and cables all look OK and the lubing doesn't help you may need a motor.
