Update: Power Antenna
#1
Since today I spent close to 9 hours fixing the gizmos on this car, the antenna was one of them.
It turned out, the mast was not the issue. The nylon rope was fully intact and not chewed up.
The motor is the fault here. Has anyone had the motor go out on them?
Rather than buying the whole assembly, can I just buy the motor?

Seems to be like that for most 3rd gens. I even replaced the antenna (because I broke it when I was trying to get it to go down the whole way) and it worked for a while but it stills does not go down flush.
Something to live with!

Ok here is my 2 cents worth..
I on the other hand have some aftermarket antenna (It was like that when I bought the car).. Not power, just kinda a rubbery type stationary antenna.. a lot shorter than the factory antenna.. Will it be hard/expensive to put back an OEM antenna.????

I replaced my mast and nothing seems to be wrong with it now. It works fine and goes all the way in. The motor should not be hard to replace at all. You can buy the motor by itself. It will not be cheap though.

I have had to replace mine 3 times, the last of course was my fault trying to clean it to make extend to full mast. After a new mast and lots of white grease in the motor assembly and on the mast itself, its full operational with no problems. I wonder if the whole can of white grease had something to do with that...hehe.
