I started to hear this popping noise when i would take a turn tight or hit a slump in the road.
Can't be axles (i hope) because i just put remans in.
Don't think its the lower ball joints because I just replaced them both last summer

What could it be?

 

strut mount?

 

anything i can look for or test to see if thats the cause?

 

Raise the car and kick or beat on the tire. This usually will indicate what is worn out...That and a visual inspection.

 

I have the exact same problem and also have replaced the same parts. I haven't actually taken the time to check but I'm betting it's the tie rod end. Let me know if you actually find the solution if I don't first.

if you want to check the strut mount, open the hood and look at the nut that holds the top of the strut rod in the center of the mount. it should be perfectly centered. while you are standing along side of the car next to the front wheel, grab the fender and shake the car side to side. the strut nut should not move.
