different motors, drive trains, bodies.

When the 4th gen came out that was when the cefiro switched platforms in japan and therefore some parts are interchangable.

There was no maximas in japan, specially wiht ve30DE's
They had 3rd gen (91-94) Maximas in Japan and their market area, which is Asia and Australia. In fact, the VE could be found in late 91 Maximas there. A member who hasn't posted in a while (Logan91VE) was in Australia or NZ and had a 3rd gen 1991 model year with a VE in it.

The reason they have "JDM VE30DE" engines is because they had them in that market -- JDM being the Japanese Domestic Market.

gen3blu - iof you mean the ones on the very front and not the "corner" lights (by the headlight) then you can buy a set from anyone parting a car out in the US or canada. Both of them are clear fronts.
Here is a pic of my light that i want to make clear - http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/77/lights7hs.jpg

All our USDM (United States Domestic Market) ones came clear.
you can probably find someone here who would trade your grill for their turn signals

thus it cant be swapped "easily" as he asked .

I know a guy that did it a long time ago. I got my first parts car from him (the car he got his motor out of) and he gave me the old VE5spd trans with it (along with the manifold) because he put the VG auto trans in when he did the swap. The car was a mess with wires everywhere but it ran. He wasnt finished with it and it had a slight miss but there is no way I would do it.
