Digi climate control problems

Well both my clock and digi climate control are starting to perform the disappearing act on me, and whacks on the dash are only gonna last so long. I know there are some wonderful writeups for the clock, but i was wondering if anyone has repaired the climate control with successful results? Any help would be appreciated!

My '92 SE Auto Climate control just started doing the same thing... out of the blue, a couple of days ago, the display just started to go on/off. I'd also like to know if anyone has any advice on how to fix it?

touch up the solder joints you can access. All of them. Nissans solder sucks for durability.

you can try to lube it up, but chances are it won't help.
BTW the control head is the same for ALL 3rd gens with manual climate control.
it is a pain to take out

KeithD, we are relatively close distance-wise. I do have extra clocks and climate control units that work. Let me know if you want to replace yours with a used one and I can help with ther removal and install.

Hello, same problem -- fading/faded display. Still seems to work OK though. Wonder if it will get worse and affect the performance.

It won't affect the performance, it's just a nuisance not knowing what you set your temp at.

How do i lube it up? Sorry if i sound stupid. I havent done many things like this before. I was going to spray some lube in the little grove but i thought that might ruin the electronics on the inside..
