Nope.. Take a look at that temp gauge. That gauge was definatly not the one I had on my 93'GXE. The SE I have now has this design in the pic just white faced.. And also the text looks waayy different. I could have swore I seen that cluster in the Stanza or something..

Edit: Also look at the RPM digits.. Much bigger then I remember them being.

to clear things up the 89-91 GXE cluster does have a different font on the numbers and such than the 92-94 GXE so it does indeed look different.

His is stock for an 89-91 though.

Well, I put another 89 miles on today 8/17/2006 Should we start a 400,000+ Club?

When this car dies, I will leave a note inside "If found dead on the side of the road, You may keep it" lol.

wrkllc, that is impressive...400K miles. Have you done 60K timing belt changes-that would be around 6 of them? How about shocks/struts or other repairs?
How did your alternator last nearly 400K miles-mine died at around 110K miles?

Yes I did the timing belt every 70k miles next one due at 420000, I did just replaced the shocks/struts about 390k this is third set, When I do the timing belt I change ALL the belts and hoses as well as the fuel hoses, on the motor.

At the time I had to do the transmission I also changed all the Motor mounts (they were shot), At about 315K changed out the control arms and bushings, and the steering rack as is was about to let loose. 3 or 4 drive axles CV boots etc...

As for the Alternator I have no idea why it lasted so long but in the same week when it died my other 1992 Maxima with 134K miles its alternator died. The starter is original, (knocking on wood) The motor has Only had the Head gaskets replaced as I blew one while driving over the bridge in Tampa Bay. which resulted in a new radiator, I took it to the local Nissan Dealership as I did not have time to look at it, they called the next day and told me to come over and look at the motor, when I got there four service techs were looking over my car, and the service manager asked me at what mileage was the motor replaced, I told him it was the original motor and it had never been touched except for routine maintenace, He said look at the cross hatching it still looks brand new whith no ridge. (I have pictures somehere) I told him I change the oil every 3000-4000 miles, and drive it everyday. They could not believe it. Then they wanted to do a complete head job because of the mileage, I said no do not touch the heads, when you redo the heads you will have to redo the bottom end as well. So I still drive it every day, it does leak oil out of the front oil seal as the the crank shaft has a seal groove worn into it. But just a small amount, so I keep an eye on the oil.

Sorry for rambling on but thats the scoop on it.

Just curious, how well does it run? Does it start up right away? And more importantly, does it still pull the car? heh

Starts right up, still has the pep, but not as good as my 94, The A/C with original compressor still gets cold I keep it on 2 or 3 as stated before everything works, but the clock will come on/off but they are known for that, if I wiggle the conector it works for awhile. I still get between 300 - 365 miles to one tank of gas. When I travel accross the State I cruse at 70-80 no problems. But hey with these miles I count every one now. I will drive this car until it dies. I keep the tires and fluids up as well as alignment and such. It actually rides better than the newer ones. But I keep over 150lbs of tools in the trunk for my job. The last hurricane season did a toll on the paint as roofing shingles scraped accross the roof and windshield, and the paint has worn off the top off the mirrors, clear coat is long gone.

Well I hear you, when the head gasket blew I was on the Gandy Bridge in Tampa Bay, I live in the Orlando area, so Yes I had it happen already, the tow truck driver dropped me off a the Tampa Airport Rental car area and I just rented another and told him to tow it Universal Nissan in south Orlando. Insurance paid $75.00 I had to pay $50.00 Remember I have a spare 1994 maxima at home anyway. But Yes I am waiting for it to happen. Have been for the last 10 years, LOL

The Guys at Nissan in Tenn. said "next milestone 500K.keep it going"
