I know exactly whats going on so does Aaron and Caped.Johns the one that needs to answer his phone so I can tell him to ship the parts...., but thats not really completely related to the thread.

The people that are on the first list need to reiterate they are in 100%. This will give us about 12 people or more. That would be very beneficial to the price for everyone!

no prob alex - we were all just kidding around and excited bout these spacers and got in trouble for indicating that b/c it wasn't strictly on topic i guess...

what do we have to do to make this thread one where we can dicsuss anything we want that is somewhat relevant to these spacers? just take out the "interest" in the title???? or should we create a whole other thread and clog up the .org with two threads re: the same topic as all the older members gripe about??? Just let us know mods and we'll be more than willing to comply w/o getting jumped on for some not 100% "interest" talk....

Just to let you know, calling my cell phone isnt your only option of communicating with me as you have my email address, you can PM me on here, PM me on ChicagoMaximaClub.net, IM me, or simply text me so please do not come up saying that I am the one that needs to pick up the phone cuz if you cannot reach one way, then you try the other. Who knows perhaps you've called when I'm busy which now seems to be always.

And dude no pun intended also Aaron, nothing against you or anyone but this is Alex's job here. I'm a very busy person now and hardly got time to eat. Working, full time college, and doing computer side jobs all day, oh and keeping the g.f happy. So Alex if you compromised to do something make sure you can do it cuz I'm not always free to do it for you. Once again Aaron, dont take this the wrong way, same for you Alex but look at it from my point.

Yea were working on it. The parts are in transit to Aaron and hes going to design them. From what he told me they should be done in a few weeks.

And you guys can add my name to that list b/c he's already said its "likely" going to be less than the VE one.. so that is definately affordable!

These spacers are still in the making. I'm just waiting on some parts to arrive so I can design the complete kit.

Patience is a virtue guys. If anything I should be the antsy one, as it's my car he's putting the prototype on. I'll make sure to take some pics for you guys in a few weeks once we get to that point.

if all goes well I may be manualified before I even go back down there. that's good for you guys because... I can do a 1500RPM-redline run locked in 2nd gear, without it kicking down into 1st like the auto will when floored. that means you get to see the power gains all the way from the VG's dripping low end all the way up to the stout high end.

I recently got the parts that I needed. I am in the process of designing the spacers as we speak. There was a HUGE delay in getting the manifolds I needed in order to base my drawings off of. I apologize for the delay.

I am working on the VG kit. And the price is still expected to be lower than the VE kit ($145).

curious... how'd the before/after HP/TQ comparison figures go from +5/+8½ to +10/+12? or is that for a different kit other than the VE?

10hp and 12ft-lbs of torque is for the VQ35DE kit.

The VE kit saw gains as high as 7hp and 12ft-lbs on the low end. And saw 5hp and 8.5ft-lbs of torque where the motor makes it's peak power.

After doing the testing on the VQ35DE with the Home Dyno system, I will not conduct any dyno testing on your car. It takes several hours to get the Home Dyno system working on another vehicle since the pulses are different for every motor. On the VQ35DE, it took several hours just to get it working. I will still make the kit for the VG30E, but there won't be any dyno testing done by me. There just isn't any demand in the VG community. But I will still provide you guys with a VERY high quality product!

Aaron, I have a baseline dyno and I'll be able to dyno after I get the spacers again. So that'll give us a good idea on how they perform. It wont be a bunch of before/after runs just 1 each, but I'm hoping to get the road dyno soon so maybe I still can.

Ok. Just keep in mind that it won't be accurate AT ALL. In order for it to be accurate, you MUST the before and after testing on the same dyno, same day, same weather conditions, and you must take an average over several dyno runs.

You can do the dyno run. Just don't expect it to be accurate.

I'll probably buy 3 dyno runs. 1 baseline, 1 to see if I fixed my top end power issue and then toss on the spacer. Its not that expensive. The owner of the shop is a good friend of mine.

I'll try to do it when they are slow so I can wait 20 min between the runs.

Sounds alright by me. Just make sure you do the exact same thing before and after. And make sure the motor has been idling for 30-45 minutes straight with the hood closed. That will ensure you have the hottest motor possible. If you do not let it idle at a stand still with the hood closed for at least 30 minutes, then the motor will not be heated up 100% and it will not be an accurate test. You want to create as much heat soak as possible in order to get the most accurate results from these spacers.

How does driving for 30min at highway speeds plus a little idling sound? OTOH Aim is better for this stuff....

Cruising at highway speeds is when your motor is going to run it's COOLEST. It gets the most airflow possible through the radiator and engine bay.

When you are idling, it gets the least amount of airflow through the radiator.

So when cruising at highway speeds, your IM will be the coolest it ever will be. When doing city driving, your IM will be very hot. When idling for 45 minutes straight, your IM will be it's hottest. With spacers installed, you will see at least a 40 degree temp drop regardless of the conditions.

Sounds like you need an upgrade to road dyno. Mine works on any car all I do is connect my ignition lead to a plug wire or to the coil.

Update?

I'm not trying to talk smack or anything, but I will be quite irritated if I don't have my set delivered to my door step at least a week before Maxus...

When is Maxus? I realistically have another 3-4 weeks left before they are ready for sale.

I REALLY don't want to make anybody irritated!

so i'm due out there again in mid-June, right? there's a ghost of a chance i'll have a 5speed swap done by then. doubtul, but a chance nonetheless. you may want to recheck temps prior to installation. i have made some changes. HAI and a plugged intake resonator. i can undo the HAI but i can't undo the resonator. it's completely gone.

I'll let you know when I need you. I can do further testing to make sure your temps haven't changed. I don't think they have AT ALL with those mods you did.

Just to let everyone know, instead of needing full payment in advance as mentioned earlier. Once I have the price of the kit determined, I will ask for a 50% deposit up front. Once I get close to 10 orders, I will make the parts. Then once the kit is tested, I will ship out your kit when I receive the other 50%.

I think that is better for everyone instead of having to pay 100% up front before the spacers are even made. They will definitely be very high quality spacers. No doubt about that. There is just no reason to accept payment in full before I start the production on these spacers.

I will make another announcement just as soon as a final price has been determined for the kit. Then I will start accepting deposits. Once I get enough deposits for those on the list, I will start production.

People have already committed, Aaron, getting enough people to send you deposits shouldn't be an issue so long as you assure us of a production date and stick to it...
