Hahahah, Holy GOD.

So I was browsing Ebay for Maxima's.... and um...

If ANYONE can make it through this entire car description without having the sudden urge to gouge your eyeballs out with a fork; there's something wrong with you. Haha, anyone know this guy/car???

As a member of the U.S. Military, I cringe more than most of you. At least he spelled military correctly. If by L.A. he means Los Angeles, he must be a Marine. I would believe that. They don't need to know how to read or write, just kill people.

At least I know he's not in the Navy.

940 is a north Texas area code. Makes me wonder...

Ok, wikipedia says the 940 area code covers Sheppard Air Force Base which seems to be just a training facility. He must have gone there between boot camp and L.A.

I just lost a lot of respect for the Air Force. Of course, I didn't have a lot to begin with... lazy bastards.

I read that aloud to my homeschooled (they are allergic to immunizations)
5th and 7th graders. OUCH!!!!!

No joke, I really do feel bad for this chap. Grammar really matters. I teach my children that it is usually the first, or perhaps the only, impression people will ever get of you. Make it a good one.

What does his future hold, if his academic background is so ill-equipped for real life? It is truely sad. I do wonder what state passed him. I don't mean that ugly, I mean that to say, what were their standards?

Ok - Contrary to what every one else thinks, I think this is one smart dude trying to pull a scam. Look at his payment method. You pay with untraceable system and no recourse and supposidly have to pick up a car sitting 1500 mile away.

Why pull a scam with such a cheap car? If you're going to scam somebody, why not market a Ferrari or something?

Also, @ stock power twisting axles. Has nobody told him that the primary purpose of an axle is to twist???

Think about the kind of person who will come after you if they are buying a Ferrari as compared to the kind of person who will be buying a 91 maxima.

He probably wouldn't have even made it into the military 5 or 6 years ago. They've had to kind of lower their standards lately. The ranks have been pretty depleted.

Still though, how about something a bit more expensive than an old 200k maxima, a car actually worth more than a couple of hundred bucks.

You could probably scam 10 people out of 1,000$ each and not have as much trouble as scamming 1 person out of 10,000$. It's all about drawing as little attention as the scammer can.

And it's not like stock power (160 or 190 either one) is going to torsionally shear an axle, let alone three, which is what I assume is what he was trying to make you think.

Assumming he did indeed go through that many axles, then I would question the extent and kind of damage he refers to in the auction. I looked at a max one time, beautiful interior and exterior, good looking engine bay. However, something was off just a bit. After looking closely, engine was sitting crooked. Car had been hit hard up front. Perhaps damage along this line might cause premature where of axles?

my old caravan SNAPPED it's axle in half with stock power (158 hp, 203lb ft of torque)

regardless, it is probably a scam, a low buck one so the individual counts if prosecuted are minor and easily beaten.
Scammers aren't stupid.

oh, and if there is no vin listed then the car may also have a salvage title. they won't let you list a car that has any flaw with the title based on an experian autocheck (catches more than Carfux)

Even if he is legit, I would be wary about buying a car from somebody who "tried to fix the problems but couldn't figure it out". Been there done that.

Word to the wise, if you are working on a car and can't figure something out, read up or get help. Too often blindly fixing a problem only causes more problems.

Wow, if he really has that hard of a time spelling and using proper grammar, I feel damn sorry for him. But hell, you are smart enought to put an ad up on e-bay, but you cant figure out how to use a spell check?
