When VTC goes bad....

I picked up a 93 max SE with VTC gone bad (car stalled in 2nd gear) on previous owner. I picked it up as a donor or to swap my SE engine from Automatick. Car has about 131k miles on it. The links are the pics of what happened to the motor.

On this 3rd photo note the lifters from 2 cylinders are all over the valve area.

What happened was the cup from VTC broke of, jammed the chain, chain slipped off of lower idler sprocket. Then I think timing got off to the point that valvle got jammed by the piston, and distroyed the spark plug. (the spark plug was bent, and ceramic isolator crashed completely). Then lifters on two cylinders fell off. One cracked in half.

I am going to take the head off, just to look at the cylinder, to see what happened. The rear bank should be fine.

My plan is to put my other VE engine into this car, since its 5 SPeed.

When my car does that, I am going to be so damn mad I will probably light the whole thing on fire.

How expensive would it be to pay to have two functional engines swapped (both VEs, maybe between a/t and m/t)? Thinking that might be a way around the inability to find the car I want. Would there be any problems selling the donor car (other than potential buyers being scared off by a car with a non-orig engine)?

VTC disable

Well i've had my car ticking for some time now and with all the stop lights around me it gets kinda (sorry. ) REALLY annoying. So i've read the whole grouding procedure and it seems to work or it only ticks 1/2 the time now. So i just cut the yellow wire completely and only the red is touching the front solenoid. So do i have to cut the yellow wire on both or what?

Thanks!

You have to ground the yellow wire also..

The instructions to this procedure are in the HOW TO section of craig brace's website..
