took a while to do... that airbox is a ***** to get out. then the bolt on the airbox bracket that the pop's bracket is supposed to be connected to was stripped, so i bolted it to the tranny pressure sensor instead. it looks great, and sounds great. as for the low-end loss, i don't feel it. maybe i just can't tell the difference, or maybe its because i'm always switching the A/C on and off and i'm used to the way that feels. oh well. i bought it from AKAICEBERG here on the forums, and he helped me a LOT with the installation. what a guy

I am about to install an Intake Filter Adapter. I think a POP charger is the same thing. I have a 92 SE Auto. Will I lose low end torque? I have heard that I will gain low end torque since it is sucking in more air from the get go. So, which one is it? Thanks for your help.

just installed one yesterday

as some of you know, i am going to be working on a dual stage intake system for my maxima, yesterday i didnt have anything to do, so i put on the "pop" part of it. its just an aluminum MAF adapter and a cone filter (not even k&n..yet). i didnt get to test it out much because my dash was all taken apart and i didnt have a guage cluster in at the time...so today i'll finish putting my dash back together and go test it out. but from starting my car and revving it in the driveway, its going to have a nice growl. now i just need to remove the intake resonator .
doe anyone have any idea how to make a valve that is controlled by engine RPM(has to be adjustable and automatic)? i'm wondering because this will be a vital part of the dual intake. in a few weeks after i get my exhaust manifold studs fixed, i'm going to have the ypipe and CAI piping made, then i'll put new k&n filters on and get to work on the valve setup, bring my car to a dyno and find optimal engine RPM to have the popcharger to open...

Yes, you will lose considerable low end torque..... It sucks bad! I'm ready for a CAI

Yeah,James is right! What's up James how ya been? As soon as it heats up under your hood good bye low end. That is why I am swithching to CAI soon also.Even more because of the wheather out here in Cali. and I have a black car so it gets extremely hot under the hood.If I can some how wrap my exhaust manifold with some heat resistant material then it should cut down the under the hood heat by atleast half.Hmm.

header wrap. when i get my exhaust ypipe made/installed i'm having the manifolds wrapped with it, then i'll get more and wrap all intake componants outside the manifold.

I dont think header wrap will keep alot of the heat out though. It is mostly for sound I am pretty sure of.I mean it will help a little but not as much as ceramic coating.I have lurked on the BMW sites. And it seems they have a company that ports and ceramic coats the stock exhaust manifold for a chunk. And it is supposed to make the engine bay 85% cooler.

So, you know I will lose low end torque? Then, why would you put a MAF adapter w/ cone filter? If I lost any more low end power, I would hate my car. It's so slow off the line, every car leaves me. If you lose considerable low end, why would you want the POP charger? Do you gain high end power? If so, in what gear and what RPM do you start to notice the extra power? Thanks.

POP charger question

I am going to get one installed in about two days unless someone convinces me otherwise. I want to know what it will do to my performance. Thanks.

A pop charger will increase your performance.Very noticeable at mid-top end. However CAI is still the best way to go in my books because of the heat problems.

I live up in Canada where it gets really cold in the winter. If i get a cai would it be best if i put the stock intake back on for the winter? Would it make my car hesitate lots if it got too cold of air??
