Remote Starter Options

I've been wanting to get a remote starter on my car since I got it but I dont know what kind to get. My sister has a valet one on here car but it seems kinda cheap. I was just wondering what are some of my options. My budget range is around 300 dollars.

Are you doing it yourself or having it installed?
DEI makes about 75% of the remote start units currently on the market so chances are if you get it professionally installed it will be one of those.
Personally I've used Bulldog, crimestopper, autopage without issues that bothered me so far.
though the bulldog would start my friends car at the same time

I will be getting it professionally installed, although I do know some stuff about wiring I just feel safer knowing that I cant screw it up.

Now are you talking about ALARMS or Remote Starts? cuz I'm also looking into getting a remote start for my car now that I've taken care of my electrical problems.

I have heard bad things about Viper, for one someone once told me it was a ricer product but I could be wrong, I dont know what else but I heard they were no good.

then let the installer choose one that has a lifetime part AND labor warranty.
also make sure to get it done by a smaller shop that does show cars and such. they tend to do better/cleaner installs though you will pay more.

FWIW if you know wiring you can do it yourself it just takes patience and time. I've do several remote starts on different cars, and they aren't hard. you just need to know some tricks to make it easier.

you have the internets < george bush lol, lay down the footwork first do the comparisons,do you want autopage, want to roll down the windows roll up the windows, pop the trunk lock and unlock the doors even though thats a given.do you wanna turn on the heat or ac provided you have digital hvac control i'd save up and get the one i really want. imho i hate the fact that i can roll down the windows with key pad but cant roll them back up or least i have'nt figured out how yet.or i leave my windows down expecting it not rain and then i gotta sprint to the car get in turn the key and roll up the windows and close the sunroof. its a pain.My coworker had has remote start configured to operated his windows while im sprinting he's hittin a button and laughing at me so save up and get the one offers just that much more convience theres nuttin worse than runnin up to your car with a cart load of groceries fumblin for the keys in the rain.

crimestopper is by far the best you can buy from what I've found. Information is limited, but it's out there. Just give them a call and they'll tell you how every DEI alarm is easy as pie for a theif to crack and how their product is better. Also, you cannot buy crimestopper outside an authorised dealer. Maybe ebay if you're lucky, like I did. Look at the CS-2016 DPII FM also, consider getting a tilt moniter if somebody tries to tow your car or jack your rims. It senses 3 degree angle changes, and resets itself automatically.
