No I'm serious. I have alot of equipment to weld steel, but nothing to weld aluminum and the only way to weld steel to aluminum is with jb weld, afaik...
IMO, there's nothing wrong with using JB Weld for stuff like this. It won't break and it's not like you'll be able to tell what I used to weld it once it's cleaned up and painted.

I'd at least use some flanges and bolts to hold it together. Just weld a steel flange onto the steel side and an aluminum one to the aluminum side.
I just don't believe in holding things like this together with something that comes in a tube. I don't mind that sort of stuff as a secondary measure or seal but nothing beats a good solid bolt for holding things together.

FYI, I've seen cracked engine blocks that had been repaired with jb weld. I also have seen them run with out leaks.

Please tell me whats wrong with using JB weld for something un-structural like an intake manifold. It's not like I'm boosted... Plus, wouldn't bolts and a flange look "ugly." lol

I stated earlier in the thread that I don't have equipment to weld aluminum. Full round would starve the cylinders that are further away from the TB and more plenum volume would shift the powerband even further to the right.

Wow, that's pretty cool. Really makes the engine look different too. The rear coil packs look funny sticking up like that
How about a video of a nice downshift to 3rd gear at 75 mph run?

nice work! one of the coolest custom mechanical (ie, not electrical) parts i've seen in a while. wish you had an on-car dyno so we could see before/after runs. On a scale of 1-10 how good would someone's fab skills have to be to make that theirself?

you mean like using an aluminum plenum adapter plate rather than a steel one? or was that aluminum but the plenum itself was steel?
