Remaning a Starter

So I replaced my original starter this morning (278,000 miles, btw) with a brand new NSA starter from internetautomar, and am wondering what to do with the old one... I'm thinking about cracking the thing open and seeing what's damaged and rebuilding it myself... just wondering if anyone has done this... or if it's simply a waste of time and money? Or perhaps if it would be worth anything to anyone. Comments always welcome

do it. usually, rebuilding an electrical motor isn't too hard, nor expensive to do.

Kits are hard to find seeing no one wants to sell em anymore so I would just try the dealer first, if nothing then google some kits im not sure of name brands don't ebay them though!
