how much would she be worth?

i have a 1990 maxy that thanks to my dads ghetto riggs he sent the engine to hell. but anyways i took out the engine trying to fix it but he just made me lose hope when he made it worse. long story short how much would it be worth for a rolling shell? or with the engine and sell it as a "needs new engine" type thing

it has about 300k on the chassis but it has no rust, 5th gen se wheels, good paint for a old car brand new rack and pinion, very clean interior *i hate dirty cars*

the last pic is before i untinted it andput the se wheels. *its a tan dash cover*

There's not much a market for a 3rd gen VG shell. You might get $100 from the junk yard.. Sell the wheels seperate. If you can, just part it out yourself.

So, again, what's your reasoning for selling it? If you sold it you'd get $500 or so.

And what kind of car do you expect to get for that $500? Probably something like you've already got that needs work. Selling your car just puts you in the same boat you're already in..

I mean, you can get a perfectly good VG engine for $200 if you look around a bit.

I'd say get a new engine in it, and even if you don't want it it'd be worth more like 1500 instead of close to nothing.

OR you could get a usdm spec, which is practically the same thing, and save yourself a grand. ( I presume you are talking about an engine)

The cars body looks immaculate!! I would just get a low mileage engine from a junk yard or something, or look around. You can probaly get one pretty reasonable too now days, and since you already know how to work on the car and are familliar with its parts, I would keep it. If you sell it someone else will have it and do the same thing with it. And like someone said before, if you replace the engine, and then want to sell the car, you could ask for about $1500 to 2000 or so and buy you another car if thats what you want instead of selling it for a little of nothing.

i was, and i could just drive to los angeles and get one for 600.
i just going to get a low miles one like you guys say and drop it in. i did get a 89k one as the second engine *original was screwed* and the 89k lasted me to only 110. hopefully the other engine goes as planed and lasts me atleast 200k

So what happened to the 89k engine that it only lasted 20k miles?

Man, VG's go forever even with just a little bit of maintenance and timing belt changes on time, etc.

my dad messed up the heads by trying to get out some broken studs and he over drilled and made the holes wayyy to big and they leaked water too

Those two things cancel each other out. it costs more to properly turbo than to get an engine with a warranty.

Just put another junkyard engine in it. let a pro work the exhaust studs over while it's out of the car if you need to..
also install a new water pump, timing belt, and crank/cam seals while you have it out of the car. once that's done, the engine should last another 60k miles with zero maintenance.

All you guys are talking about getting engines from the junkyard. Heck the junkyards with 3rd gens that I go to are basically raped.

Between LA/Long Beach Area. There are about 2-3 pick a parts there. I saw a 3rd gen VE Auto for sale too for 800. But unless it joins the junk pile, I can't touch it.
