Ignition problems

I recently wired in a start / kill switch. done it in bit of a rush and taped the connectors. Gone out this morn to properly connect them all to find that the engine wont start.

getting the accessory power, dash lighs and hearing the relay click, but nothing when I connect ignition

Checked Fuses in Passenger compartment and engine bay. Changed relays. Still nothing

Put the origional key switch back in to rule out bad connection with starter switch. Still the same thing

Pretty sure something has blown somewhere, just can't find it.

undo everything to do with that switch (back to stock) and then see what happens

Sorted.

Whilst fiddling under the dash, I must have knocked the auto stick in to 'r'

wat? UK doesn't have a brake pedal lockout for getting out of park? i know some/all UK cars don't have the clutch-safety switch (as seen on Top Gear when Hamster got hypnotized and forgot how to drive, and started the car while in-gear)

Nope. To get out of park, you need to press a button on the side of the auto stick, but mine is a bit knackered

I dont know of any cars over here with the clutch saftey. Certainly none that I have had.

ic. USDM 3rd gens have an electronic solenoid that flips a lock out of the way when the key is "on" and the brake lights are lit. otherwise you can't even push the button on the shift lever... and then of course you still have to push the button to move it. my control box for that broke so i had to use the emergency release every time i wanted to go anywhere.
