Maybe Im stupid

Ok, ill start by saying that i am no noob. now with that out the way. Monday as i was driving in the third gen, the batt light came on and the speedo and tach stopped. At first i didnt think anything of it. now today i go to start the car. I get no dummy lights whatsoever when i turn the key. WTF did i do? I have tried searching for similar problems and found none.

If i am truly stupid and missed something in my search, help would be appreciated. To be honest if i don't figure it out soon i will scrap this third gen as well.

Noob advice:
Does the autolocks work on the car? I believe this happened to me once and it turns out my battery cable was off. (I don't know how that happened)

Well the lock for the shifter does not, the defrost does not work upon furter inspection. i have my windows, power locks, heater, turn signals, but no shift interlock or dummy lights upon startup. It starts fine.

standard course of action would be checking fuses and relays near the fuse box. there's only 1 "IGN" relay tho.. but even so, some fuses share many functions.

check the fusible links right next to the battery.
