how would 13's clear the brakes without like... negative offset? FWD cars in general run pretty high offset so even a narrow wheel pushed out to the fenders would still hold the brakes inside of it.

Of course.. All through the early/mid 90's when Daytons were still the style for lowriders.
I don't know if the magazine Lowrider Euro is still around, but this magazine was always full of imports (including Maximas) that had Daytons/McLeans/etc.
Trust me, it's all been done before. Doing it these days, you'd probably be very unique in it just because the lowrider-ish type scene has shifted to the whole "donk" phenomenon.
Heck, people don't even put wire wheels on Montes/Cutlasses/etc. any longer.

HOLY HECTIC! Those wheels look hectic. That's great info people (it gives me motivation to do it), I'm not up on the magazines, so i've never seen it. I want to do it, so do you know what the maximum size wheel is we can take? Also, do the daytons have to pop out like that? It looks like a hydraulic car, the gangster bouncing cars, I just want them at regular distance to the outside, like in the James92 photo above.
What tires do you guys recommend for mid price that is suitable for a high end wheel. Not performance race stuff.
My car is Pearl White color, I think they would go great with it for the drug dealer look.

You might check the layitlow.com forums for more info on wire wheels for FWD cars.. but you probably might be SOL except for super expensive brands like Truespoke
Daytons and whatnot look like they belong on cars with switches because that's mainly what they're for

Some wheels like the ones on this monstrosity would probably be your best bet

Just a warning.. 99.5% of the people on these forums don't support that look.... it's your thing, but don't expect much support. (You can tell just from the directory I stuck these pics in...)
Doesn't help this guy had no less than TEN 2nd Gen Maxima badges glued in random places on the car....

Why? Do you think it looks a little TOO ghetto? I wonder though if the novelty would wear off quick for me and I might get sick of them. The blue car you posted looks like it's from a flea market - it looks seriously ghetto.
I'm starting to wonder if my car would end up looking like those raggedy old pimps in the early 90's that souped up the 2nd Gen Maxima's with 5 Star wheels and the plastic gold trim kleenex box in the back where the speakers are. Do you guys remember those 'accessories'? Also in the front, 2nd Gen Maxima's were notorious in Canada for having a plastic gold looking crown air freshener. Usually 5-Star wheels also.

That doesn't look 2 bad but I wouldn't do it to my Biiitch, the Dayton's that the main character put on his 93' Mustang in "Menace to Society" looked tight, but that was in the early/mid 90's.
