I've been hearing ppl whine the whole time I've been an Org member about the lack of performance parts out there for the Maxima, not counting the older Maximas, which have it real bad. So I've talked to these guys @ MES and they're willing to work with developing a 2.5" and 3" catback,....So if we can show that we're really interested with minimum of 5 ppl....20 ppl for a full bolt on kit.....I'll let this float in the discussion section for a while (being patient), b4 I throw in MY towel! There is a 3" option...Do you prefer the 3", it's better for a boosted engine way less backpressure than a 2.5" (turbo's #1 enemy)????

Dan was just pointing out there's no need to do this as WSP already makes/can make what we need..

Doesn't mean we can't also go through MES. Cmax kind of called it off early/for no reason
I wasn't calling it off, I WAS GETTING THE HELL OUT! It's a private company open to the public.....If your are really intertested please send in your email to: orders@mandrelexhaustsystems.com

So these guys know we're serious! I don't have a prblm with Danny offering an alternative solution to our problem.....What I'm doing is establishing an exhaust maker to startup a catback for everyone out there looking for one, not only on the Org but privately as well, it's an effort, I would love to see available and when it's complete, It's a simple email or telephone call to place an order for a 3rd Gen performance catback. Warpspeed should post some pictures of their system so we can see it and how it's put together as well as what components he's using...(They have good quality)....but this is bigger than them too! This will make it easier on WSP and Cattman if this goes down and we accomplish this feat! What I mean by that is! Now there's a kit that WSP and Cattman can order to build more 3rd gen catback and it's easier and cheaper for them as well if they order in bulk (It's pre-fabricated)......

You just need two more. Yes Warp Speed makes it but its not for $120. If you want cheap then go MES. If you got extra paper then go Warp Speed. I say others should jump on this b/c at this point in the game how many after market companies are willing to invest time & effort in 3rd gen Maximas and not charge an arm and a leg?

If getting it welded is an issue for you to get then do what I did and get it slip fit. I have no leaks what so ever and if I decide to change it up later I just slip the old off and slide on the new.
Very well put Maximo018, especially the slip off and slip in part! No need investing into a 1 piece system that can't be broken down when you need to (maintenance)! Getting this tubular kit created leads to bigger & better things for ALL OF US! That means there will be T304 kits available in 2.5" & 3", as well as Full bolt on kits in the future! Come on ppl they have kits for a Dodge interpids, (93-01) Nissan Altimas, Ford Contours, etc! Let's do this for all the 3rd Gen's out there!

I can really appreciate the effort put into opening options for 3rdgen owners. If I didn't just hook my exhaust up I would most def be down but it would be nice to have a 3" equal length bolt on system available if I need to upgrade from 2.5" equal length system. Don't give up on this, it's worth the effort your putting into making this happen. I'd personally like 2 see some put projection headlights into production for our 3rdgen Maximas', I've email a few companies that make them for later gen Max's but haven't received a definate answer yet from 1 company.

Cmax03, I am in if there is a group deal. I have been looking to upgrade my y pipe, etc from Warpspeed for a while but I don't know enough about cars to make a buy yet. But, if I can order the parts easily and have a local muffler shop install it -- then I am in.

You can find that muffler @ several sites like Magnaflow, Walker, Cherry Bomb, Thrush, etc...

Yes it's mandrel bent (Mandrel Exhaust Systems) MES.....You can push it I'm just trying to do as I stated previously regarding this being bigger than any of us, along with WSP and Cattman. Which means they could became WSP and Cattman's supplier.....get some pictures of the WSP stuff ok....

I'm curious are GReddys still for sale or did they discontinue them? I remember hearing they might file ch. 11, not sure if that happened.

they are still being sold, but so are tokicos and konis. afaik, neither of those are still available, unless somebody has them stocked in a warehouse (not likely for most retailers).

GReddy FTW. Still rockin that unit on my blue one now. I got my GReddy foreeeever ago and I remember back then they'd been discontinued. Mine was from some leftover stock somewhere (as Ben said).

Mine is not full SS, but the one in the link Ben posted is full SS. IIRC, a few years back, there were rumors that GReddy was going to make the full SS version for the 3rd gen but I don't know if anybody has ever bought one and verified they actually exist(ed)

James92SE that sounds really nice! My 5.5th sounded like that when floored equipped w/the Cattman 2.5" bpipe and Oem Muffler...very quiet during normal driving but a beast when floor....!

I found Streetbeat still has a Pacesetter catback in stock for a 3rd gen $325......

Update my boys!! Straight from MES c/o:Josh.......

The pics were good.

I did a little research over the weekend... looks like there are only 2 main companies that seem to support this model: Warpspeed and Cattman.

I'll keep following the threads and looking into the system. I'll also let you know as I make contact with the people listed below.

Its been our philosophy to keep prices low because we feel this is what people should be paying for exhaust systems. The market is flooded with many high priced systems. As a result, we don't have much room for discounts. Normally we would offer a 10%-15% discount on group buys with 10+ people. In the spirit of trying to make this happen for your group, we can offer a 15% discount on the tubing kits. This would put the systems at:

$127.00 - 2.5 inch Aluminized
$190.00 - 3 inch Aluminized
This includes a $25.00 shipping rate.

There is no need to start sending any payments just yet. I will keep you updated on our progress. Hopefully, we can try to make some headway on this project within the next week.

i called everyone that said they had Koni's and Tokico's in stock and no dice, one guy said "all items listed are 100% in stock", i emailed asking if the Tokico were for sure in stock and heard nothing after 3 emails and 2 weeks and just bought them, of course they werent really in stock and he was a dbag about giving the money back

im going to be surprised if someone finds Koni's or Tokico's in stock anywhere, me, someone else, and the owner of Shox.com tried all of Canada/US and nobody had any

Wow, $127 shipped? Nice.

CMax, yeah, the GReddy is awesome. It's very quiet at idle, doesn't drone at ALL, you can actually hear your stereo OVER the exhaust under all normal driving conditions, etc. Plus it sounds great. Hands down pwns the sound from virtually any universal muffler/fart pipe.

Thankfully I'm not up north though, because most of these non-SS GReddy's rusted out over the years

Certainly not 15 more people from Maxima.org

Might want to hit up the NICO forums and some of the other generic car forums where there might be some 3rd gen people who somehow haven't stumbled upon Maxima.org...

I'd be interested but i am right now focused on the suspension and drive train first plus my exhaust system in the end will be true dual and twin turbo once im to that point no need for me to mess with exhaust right now it flows well enough for the light mods i have.

i found that Magnaflow muffler you mentioned on a VE 5spd at the junkyard today, took around a hour to get the exhaust down so i could saw the muffler off from the top, got halfway and my sawblade snapped in half might just buy one new off of Ebay, someone is probably gonna jack it by the time i get back there. the exhaust on the Mazda i wanted is already gone

it was 12576, good shape just a bit dirty

the junkyard here is a waste though most of time, a good make year 2000 or older will get stripped because people can make profit on the parts, and most RHD cars and Supras/RX7/Integra get stripped but otherwise cars get wasted. theres 3 VE 5spd and 4 GXE's and only the clusters were taken off of 2 VE's and a GXE had some of its dash out but thats it, and one VE was in mint shape

theres a RHD Toyota Corolla wagon with the silvertop engine and full-time 4WD, just some interior parts taken

I wish I was U! I would have it already for.....$20! I'm trying to put the biggest rear muffler and resonator I can fit.....I love a quiet/stealthy/performance exhaust! It wails only when stepped into....I also found an oval, slant cut, & resonated exhaust tip which will fit wonderfully in that void!

What type of Magnaflow muffler are you running? 14x5x8? no resonator nor cat?
