If CMax bought two.. I bought one.. and you bought one.. that's only 4 units. They had to have 5 units confirmed to even make these for us so surely somebody else was in

If I wasnt focusing on the body on my Max first I would hop on this RIGHT NOW. But The exterior needs quite a bit of attention. :/

Have you found a nice muffler to go with it? Prefferably one that doesn't face downward?

I remember years back people were putting stock G35 sedan (or something like that) mufflers onto 2.5" piping. I may have to look into that. IIRC it had some spring/valve that flowed nearly straight through at WOT and at idle/non WOT it was basically just like a stock/quiet muffler. Since this is going on my black VE I want a non-ricey/fart can muffler but the advantages of the higher flow.

Yeah you're right with that muffler and the 5/5.5th Gen Maxima dualtip variable flow muffler as well....both quiet and can flow good #'s at WOT, but both are reverse flow mufflers so you lose a little bit of power (at top end) but it's probably an insignificant 1-3 whp!!!!!! I'm going with a 22" magnaflow 4" round resonator and the 5"x11"x22" single in/out muffler which should be more than enough to quiet my little beast and for extra measures a resonated SS Oval tip......By the way Magnaflow just released their Glasspack line of mufflers/resonators.....I'll use one of those on the Dodge Shelby Charger one day in the future!!!!!

Hmm didn't know that about the 5.5 gen muffler. Do you know what the inlet is on that? Is it 2.25" or 2.5"?

2" I believe....I love using it with the Cattman 2.5" Bpipe, Headers, Hiflo Cat it was an awesome setup...the best of both worlds. But maybe a little more diffcult with that turn that close the 5th Gen muffler....

Hmm.. I shall have to look into that. Does anybody know if the g35 is also 2" inlet?

I guess ideally I'd want one with a bigger inlet. Would going from 2.5" to a 2" inlet negate the hp increase of the 2.5" piping? Or no?

I don't think so much on the hp decrease. I pretty sure the g35 is a 2" inlet.

Anyone have a picture of a G35 muffler and how it's inlet pipe is arranged...The AE muffler makes an extra 5 hp over the 5th Gen...and I'm sure the Bosal Oem replacement will to since it has no variable valve in it! Maximo018 has a 5.5th gen muffler he modded with 3" tips and man that muffler is beautiful......

It looks good guys....We own thanks to Josh for working with us....I'll prep my tubing (debur and clean the interior) and cut the out system off so I can check the fitting or do the plumb bob test fit with the car jacked up.....It looks great and appears there's enough extra tubing on the fwd section to run "No Resonator" and rear muffler only....I'll be deciding between an 18"/22" resonator....I will also modifiy the flange to slip over the tubing for a better/stronger fit....

Wow, that does look good! So that rear section isn't slip-fit? It looks like it is

You were out in your driveway taking pics of that at 3 am? If so, that is AWESOME!

Actually @ about 2am, opening Christmas presents extra early...then I had to do all that uploading/downloading cause I said that I was gonna provide yall pictures once it came in.....I worked late that night and had other things to do before I started taking pics........The rear section is slip fitted on the fwd side....otherwords the fwd(resonator) section slips into the rear section! I'll be expanding my rear muffler to slide the rear section into it....all the expanded sections will be cut with 2 slits and secured with band clamps. I'll be expanding the fwd end of the resonator (since I'm using one) to slide the flanged/fwd section into it. The resonator will be welding in place and the entire catback will be three sections (fwd/resonator, Bpipe/midpipe, and the rear muffler).....Just like Cattman's!

2. Rear section interfering w/ Upper links with suspension fully extended.
3. That's it!!!!!

Here's some more.....

This is a pic of how close the initial fabricated exhaust system compared to the OEM! The rear section will need to be extended 1.5" just ahead of the vertical offset because the exhaust is touching the upper links, when the suspension is fully extended

This picture is showing the offset and the rework fwd section: The tubing should be 2.25" from the tip to the first offset bend and overall 29" from tip to tip. The fwd flange was opened up via a die grinder to accept the 2.5" tubing to slide through...

That's pretty much it Guys!!!!!
I'll be notching the fwd end (expanded end) of the rear section so I can utilize band clamps instead of a U-clamp...The 22" resonator that I intended on using was a pipe dream when using a offset in the fwd catback section...I will be trying an 18" resonator instead....The 5"x 11""x 22'' rear muffler is a go'er however!

I've sent Maximajquery 2 pm's and an Open meggase in the thread's post replay, still no response! I think Josh will still do yall's honestly! Cause He manufactured 2 for me....already! So the chances of you getting yours is 99.9999999%....I just hate when folks do sh!+ like that (act interested in something and disappear), but it wouldn't be my first time it's happened to me whille doing a group deal/manufacturing of a 1 off part!
I use the cardboard cause my creeper when glide down the driveway with me on it and it's too hard trying to keep my balance while working, cause it tries to go no matter what position I'm in.....LOL!
How do yall like the fitment so far....Joshshould have it fitting like a glove once he does my 2 revisions...I thought He did a really good job off the bending directions database they use! I won't be able to use a 22" resonator so I'm going to do one more test to see if there's enough room for 4" round Magnaflow case, I'm not sure it will fit....??????

UPDATE GUYS:

#cg_msg_content DIV {MARGIN:0px;}
Thats great news!

The pics you took were good. The adjustments you mentioned will be easy.

1. We kind of figured the front pipe would be too long. We actually build almost all our tubing with longer front pipes, for people to make adjustments if needed. However, based off the picture where you welded the flange, we can make a cut before shipping if needed.

2. Now you see what I described about space and using the 22 inch inch resonator... it just wont fit. But the 18 inch should be fine. NOTE: We can also build a replacement cat section also... This can be built to OEM specs which means it would install with any exhaust system... OR we can build it 4 inches shorter, which will allow use of a 22 inch resonator on the front pipe. This would be easier to install than modifying the flexpipe section. Price would be $95.00 for a new High Flow cat section, using a Magnaflow cat. NO! We cannot build this without a cat though.

3. I had a feeling we might need to add extra length for the last section leading up to the muffler. This is an easy fix though.

My only other question would be... How did the muffler install? What muffler style did you use, etc? We are aware of the fact the OEM muffler has a higher inlet and lower outlet... As such, when we built the kit, we tried to lower the muffler inlet so that a standard muffler can be used... how did this work out? If you get a chance, please follow up with pics of the muffler section, etc.

Thanks,

I'm glad you enjoy the new exhaust. We will start sending out the other orders within this week. Also, keep an eye on our website for an update and easier ordering.

After this next round of 2.5 inch system shipping out... we will start production of the 3 inch systems.

Within time, we still plan to make the system as a bolt on catback... and also so start looking into other gen models.

(sorry for the long email)
