Well thx, I thought it was pretty smooth as well without alot of drama....and I would do anything to make this happen since modifications/aftermarket performance parts for our vehicle are lacking in the exhaust dept....I'll do whatever the vendor ask of me to accomplish the goal...and Josh was really easy going and I tried taking enough pictures to give them more insight or our car's undercarriage. So far I'm really pleased visually. Once I get everything fitted and welded permanently, I'll be removing it to get it either ceramic coated or paint w/ Duplicolor 1500* F exhaust paint for longer service life....Once I'm thru with my 1st catback, I'll finish the second Catback and sell it!

I would love to experiment to see if the Cattman 2.5" rear muffler would fit the 3rd gen (top 3 pics, bottom pic is a 3" Cattman) Maxima(s). But Honestly I don't wanna chop/hatch up Cattman's artwork cause it's more valuble as a whole catback system if I decide to sell it oneday..... I will do some side to side comparisons but the inlet side of the muffler is curved really close to the body not leaving alot of room for some straight pipe to weld into for a strong connection and would eventually break/crack over time......

That bottom muffler pic is a Cattman right? That;s a good looking muffler, it's new I'm assuming... how much did you pay for that muffler?

Well, the muffler was new in these pictures, but I didn't purchase the muffler by itself....It was purchased as part of the Cattman 3" catback for my 03 TE A/T Maxima.....The bottom picture is a comparison of all my 03 Maxima's exhaust systems the (3) bpipes (from the bottom to the top)
3" Cattman, 2.5" Cattman & Oem 2"....The mufflers are as follows ( bottom to top) 3" Cattman (3 piece), and the Oem....
Yes that Cattman muffler is awesome looking! I'm gonna see if I can experiment with what it looks like on the 3rd Gen....

Yes, but we don't want the 5th Gen setup (with the curved pipe).....I pm'd Brian to see if they could make a straight inlet pipe muffler based on the 5th gen design also without hanger braces.....Just a plain jane Cattman generic twin tipped beauty...I'm waiting on a reply. For those that don't know....This muffler is a straight thru perforated tube design that splits into twin tips at the rear, the case measures 19"L x 9"W x 5.5"H...And really good tone and sound control.....Handbuilt with Stainless Steel, SS wool, and a highend sound deadening material as well, along with it's gorgeous twin 3" tips.....It's pretty much the perfect canidate for our 3rd Gen's.... Axle backs are usually $300-$375...IIRC! You like it too James92Se?

Yeah well the curved pipe isn't even a big deal, really. I mean it can just be cut off closer to the canister and welded to the b pipe. The biggie is whether or not it's high inlet low outlet?

Heck if he were to make/sell us the mufflers by themselves he could without much extra effort make us an entire cutback

It's a center inlet.....I would like a straight 3-4" inlet to get a stronger joint (slip in and welded) and not have too worry about that small/shallow pipe engagement resulting in cracking at it's weld since there no real depth of pipe engagement going on....But the bad part is who would spent some good money on a piece of Cattman's High quality arsenal when we apparently have some really cheap/great price shoppers/stingy spenders in the 3rd Gen sector.....You Know what I 'm saying.....

Ohhhhh.. so THAT'S what I have coming. I got an e-mail the other day about a 25 lb UPS shipment. I was like, wtf is this for? I didn't order anything? I thought maybe it was for my brother since he uses my PayPal account sometimes.

Looks like mine will be here Thursday

Cool beans. Although they said VG30DE instead of VE30DE

Also, I thought this was supposed to come with a flange and hangers?

Mine came today and all I got was the two pipes (which look great), and this:

No hangers or flange or anything

i hate UPS

they emailed that it would be delivered tomorrow, but they tried this morning and left a missed 1st delivery notice and they would try a 2nd delivery tomorrow, but a hour later they left another note calling it the 2nd attempt even though they only try once per day. they say after the 3rd attempt they ship it back to the sender

i called and asked and i guess tomorrow between 1030-2 they'll try again, ive had so many bad experiences with UPS that its driving me nuts lol

i did lol

UPS said the 2nd time attempt must have been a mistake and that tomorrow will count as the 2nd attempt, i dont know why they said the 30th because i would have made sure someone would be home today otherwise, someone will be around forsure tomorrow though because they said forsure between 1030 and 2

Unbelieveable! Maximajquery you're alive! Good to hear that! Just know that the 2.5" gas been fitted on a real Maxima and the 3.0" never has but should fit pretty freakin close....GL....By the way, what took so long for you to respond?

How about finding a better looking muffler? I wish Cattman would produce a 2.5" Generic Muffler since it's such a beautiful/functional design! This is what it would look like slightly installed....

haha my OEM exhaust was pretty nifty, survived IIRC 17 years of Alberta all-year weather and still sounded dead quiet, even though half of the muffler was rusted through and drooping down

cant wait to get this new exhaust on

Yeah it's made of some pretty thick sheetmetal, and the outlets are so puny all the sounds are harnessed even if there are holes....

so what resonator if at all is everyone going with? what size?

i just found a good muffler on Ebay that was used as a floor model so it was cheap, but i know some people skip using a resonator and apparently they weigh alot, but some still say use them

18" fit with the piping they sent! Or you can fit a 22" but it'll have to be installed with the cat slight cocked and I'm not gonna place anything under a load that will lead to possible premature failure of a flex section....I'm waiting on my resonator and muffler and all this snow across the U.S. isn't helping...Muffler P/n 12576 and resonator p/n 10426..... Will be set up fully by the end of next weekend!!!
