Canister style....14" x 6" round......that's all? No resonator or cat huh? that's why its loud as sin......I'm looking for a real refined sound like my 5.5th Gen....3" Cattman with a wee bit more quietness....which you don't really hear @ idle....

Been watching this thread from the beginning to see where it went.....wooooo.

In any case, I like the pricing....but perhaps I've missed some details about how this is going to install and how much pipe it comes with. I get there are not going to be any flanges or hangers, right?

The pipe will need to be welded, but are the ends expanded so the connecting pipe fits inside before being welded, or are they just straight cut ends?

I understand it will NOt have a muffler (good). But, how far/long is the pipe through the center of the car? ...Is it long enough to eliminate the cat (extend up to the flex pipe)?

Please clarify for me (the exhaust terminology impaired)....I'm more a visual person anyway. If I can get some clarification, I'm definately down for the 2.5" as I don't think my little T3 needs 3" of breathing room.

I'll answer your questions the best that I can....
1. No flange nor hangar studs....just piping!
2. It appears that all the other kit's are all nonexpanded tube ends...this can be done for practically free @ your garage or by a local muffler shop.....This will be my route with band clamps....you can go for the fully welded 1 piece exhaust...Not Me!
3. Hopefully it's that long....If not just add some more! I want my cat there...I like being legal!
4. An exhaust can never be too big for a turbo! The car is never big enough for the sewage pipe turbo boys wanna fit under it! IMO 3" would be optimum....2.5" will be better than Oem though.....your choice!!!!

Not looking to do away with cat. converter, have a brand new RT converter waiting for a new exhaust set up. I was just interested in how much pipe/how the system is going to be set up.

Possibility of images? When do we need to start paying......next step?

Doesn't really matter.....make a test pipe or resonated test pipe! Use your old OEM cat as an example! I notice you mentioned WHEN DO WE NEED TO START PAYING......NEXT STEP? I didn't know you're were interested! I posted two listings and had everyone give me a response who was interested....If you are interested please state what size your into obtaining please.......Anyone else interested that's not on the short list....say something please, the more, the better?

I've been turboed for SEVERAL years now (I'd have to even look back...maybe 2005 when got it on the road...took my time, build took about 3 years. I'll not go into that here.). Pic below my name has showed my '89 turbo for some time (see intercooler), and my statement even says "Truck shifting de turbo." LOL! Wayne (Greeny) makes fun because of all my mods on this 3rd gen...I never installed a STS!

Ok guy's here the lastest update......It's money time! If anyone has a pic of their Oem exhaust system installed shoot Josh a pic please. Here's the email MES (Josh) sent:

Good news,

We started work on the system this week.

We can start the collection of funds for the project.

Either you can have the members send you the payment, for you to pay us at one time...

Or you can have the members send us a payment.

The price would be $120.00. Plus $25.00 shipping. The system is Aluminzed Steel, 2.5 inches. This is a tubing only system, but will include all flanges, gaskets and hardware.

Our PayPal address is: order@mandrelexhaustsystems.com

After the first round of 2.5 inch systems... we can start work on the 3 inch systems.

Also... Please send pictures of your current exhaust system when you get a chance. This will help us in the fabrication process this week.

So he needs pictures of the stock exhaust to model the system after? They don't have a donor/test car...?

IIRC Matt has some pretty good/clear under car shots

My exhaust is quiet as hell.....you wouldn't even hear the run except for the intake airflow @ idle other than that it's really quiet @ part throttle and full throttle mostly intake growl above 3500rpm and the cams.....The reason it's so quiet is the Oem rear muffler is still in place.....
