Anybody got pics of this installed...I'm looking to tighten up my engine bay and get rid of the extraneous bits and pieces.

If and when you get it dont get worried when it starts making a snapping sound when you wrap out each gear and shift it will sound like it's back firing for a but til the filter breaks in and settles. VE's love to talk when they have new after market intake systems.

Excellent...I got it, but I won't be installing it anytime soon. The MAF adapter plate needs opening up as it is it's restrictive to the air flow and I want to place the filter behind the headlight and isolate it from the heat.

If u want to put it behind the headlight, u need a 90 degree bend,( but u wont need to cut the fender though if i remember)

I've got this as well on my black VE. I didn't use the CAI part, though.

The couplers are REALLY flimsy, and I too had to open up the inner part of the MAF adapter. I can't for the life of me figure out why they would make it like that. At first I was too lazy to open it up and just installed how it came and figured I'd just mess with it later on but the stupid thing wouldn't even idle

Mine idles just fine without any problems. And im using the adaptor that goes on maf that came with that cai kit. But I also have mine in the fender. doing the 3 1/4" hole saw blade to cut the hole for the cai to be in the fender. 4 years with that cai in the fender in washington state the rainy state and not one single problem.

I wonder if we got different MAF plates. Mine was completely blocked off except for a little 1.5" or so square opening right in the middle.

Oh well that's still not bad! That link you posted above showed $25 shipping so it would've been $50 total

If you got a 90 degree bend, then you have all you need to do the above. In the above picture, that blue pipe is just a 90 degree bend (bastardized from my original WSP CAI). That chrome pipe that puts the filter right under the headlight is the "in fender" section from the eBay CAI that I didn't install on my black VE. I just cut some length off the bend on each side and voila.

So get on it

There is one little bracket you'll have to bend. If you see in my picture directly to the right of the coupler between the blue and chrome pipe. I had to bend that over flat. It's pretty self explanatory. You'll see it when you get in there.

Here's the finished product

*edit* ugh I give up trying to make the last picture not be upside down. It's not upside down on Photobucket so I have no clue why it's showing upside down here
