Again, VTCs!!

I know most of you here are tired of people asking about VTC information. My question however is, have any of you that have tried the grounding procedure had any luck? Any problems that have come up since you grounded them?

My problem is this:

On the way home for holidays, my fuel pump fails. After waiting 2 hours for a tow truck, I finally have the car repaired 2 days later. When I got my Maxima back, the VTCs went nuts. Obviously, something triggered them to fail. Before you could hear them when the car was first started, then after warm-up you couldn't hear them at all. After thinking maybe it was something the service technican did, I come to realize that maybe it wasn't his fault at all seeing how this is a common problem for 92-94 SE Maximas. What do you guys think?? At any rate, I can't drive the car like it is much longer. The noise isn't very appealing. Also, I refuse to pay the price to have it fixed, and not have a guarantee that the samething will happen again. I love the car though, and would hate to have to sell it. Any information you guys could give me on weather grounding the VTCs would be successful would be appreciated. Thanks for the information, and a listening ear.

Thanks again...

If your maxima doesnt burn oil, or leak oil, go with synthetic oil if you already haven't.

Also, tell your mechanic to check the pin output on the ecu for VTCs, its supposed to ground them out according to your driving.

I forget the pin#. But its in the FSM.

MOBIL 1 5w30 synthetic works nice in all my cars.

thanks

thanks for your help. I'm lucky to say that no my car doesn't burn oil nor do I have leaks. I had the chance to use a higher octane gas today, and itseems to have solved to problem. I guess we will see what tomorrow brings. :-) Thanks for your help.
