rim height isn't what determines fitment anyways... it's width and offset.. unless you are talking about 22+ which start making any tire you'll find have a taller overall height than the stock 25.6". All a "19's" do is force you to run a lower profile than "16's" and everything in between...

8" width is about as much as you can expect out of a 3rd gen. and then, the offset has to basically be perfect. Anything lower than 25 and you'll probably never get it to fit... higher and you can adjust with spacers if need be.
the fitment chart for z31's is awesome... i don't know of one for 3rd gens, but it should be fairly possible to find out based on people who've had issues with rubbing.. granted tire width (and how much the tires hang out past the edge of the rim) is also something to consider. Just cuz the bare rim fits doesn't mean it will with a tire on it.

so I try to educate them, rather than acting like something as important as that doesn't even exist.....

those particular rims fit, yes, we know it, but we only know it because it's a common choice that other people have done so we all happen to know they fit... but like with those Chrysler 300c wheels I had, i tried them, and it didn't work out so well, even tho they were 17x7's, the offset was just too damn low (+22) and they sere rubbing on my fenders.

Meanwhile the 17x7 5.5gen wheels fit just fine... offset of +40-ish.

i liked my first one better. I took the black one as a trade. I didn't go shopping for it.
i like the pearl white color much better, don't like having a sunroof, and don't like the leather seats. And the black one's chassis has pops and stuff that my white one didn't.

Any set of 4 fronts from a 350Z / 370Z would work

7th Gen MAX wheels might work, 19s are 4+

18" replicas...

These 370Z wheels would look great!

A 235/45/17 fits better and you can run them without rolling the fenders, but the 245 have so noticeably more grip on the track..

Agreed,
when I ran my 97' COBRA wheels on the MAX with the stock 245s, cleared completely. I think Ford Stang wheels are +35.

Mine were for mustang wheels. The are definitely et25.
I wasn't sure if I was a 255/35/17 or a 255/40/17 that I was running for tires.
I just know that they were expensive, and the car could turn like a miata.
Mine was fully gutted, and weighed under 2400lbs IIRC

so with the 245's, did the +35 require rolling as well, or only the +25?

This is one where I can say... "GEEZ! I never took a picture!!!"
- let me remember...
here's an article I wrote back in 02' http://4dsc.com/articles/suspension/...g_wheels.shtml
No rolling the fender, I do remember rubbing slightly with my Eibach set-up / 4 people in the car... never tried the stang wheels with the INTRAX.
What I do remember is; the handling was terrible... felt like I was driving a steam roller - turn in was suffering and the weight was very anti-performance.
Note: the mustang wheels do not have the same hubcenter radius, BIGGER than the nissan... so a set of those plastic sizers would be needed to ensure proper centric setting.
Here's someone else car with the same size/offset stang wheel...

This looks like a 235, better...

Mustang wheels- 17x8 et25
Eibach drop
255/40/17 tires
Slight fender roll so it didn't rub in turns/bounces

Car was gutted, and ran hard. Hood scoop was functional.

Whats the offset on the wheels you are using? I have 2 sets of mesh wheels ones from a crown victoria high offset 12mm or so and the other is lsc lincoln mark 7 30mm and I want to run wider than 205/55r16 maybe 215 or 225 if possible.
