Chatter Under Acceleration

92SE Auto 110k on the clock, new Nissan dealer trans installed about 3 years ago.

I'm getting a slight chatter or slippage under acceleration/WOT from time to time, trans is fairly new so I'm trying to troubleshoot what it could be. Any thoughts or suggestion? TCU maybe? Thanks.

manual or auto?
i assume it's auto since you mentioned TCU.
does it slip with light/normal acceleration?
check your fluid level...sounds like it might be a touch low...if it is good idea to change the fluid (drain and fill) just to play it safe since these trans are made out of cheese.

Correct, it's an auto. So far, it happens under light to normal acceleration, primarily when having to pass on the highway or after a stop. I'll check the trans fluid level tomorrow to see if I'm low and I'll report back. Thanks DanNY.

Update: I was low on tranny fluid, drained and refilled with Nissan Matic fluid, chatter is gone. Also took the time to give her a tune up with new NGK plugs etc. She pulls like a SOB right meow.
