What does it mean when my SE power light flashes when it turns on?

What does it mean when my SE power light flashes when it turns on?
Sorry this may be a repetitive question. But does the computer need to checked?

I believe that the owners manual states if they "power" light is flashing and not toggled in the on posistion the transmission is stuck in 3rd. (automatics)

Oh. I.do not want to sound stupid, but I can feel it shifting.
Ive been frequenting the highway without problem.

Is.this a serious issue? What would the fix be.
