Just picked up a J30

Hello everyone. I have just picked up a '92 5 speed SE with the VE30DE motor. I'm working on fixing a manifold leak on it now, but I have questions on exactly what's the best mod path for these. In particular I am wondering about how to get these tuned.

The guy I bought it from said there was a VTC tick, but after he switched to a heavier weight oil it went away. Is this a major concern, or is it just more of the noise that bothers people?

And lasty, any advice would be fantastic. Kinda jumped in to this and am gonna have to figure it out as I go along.

Welcome to the group! As for parts there are y pipe, bigger exhaust piping, lighten flywheel, clutch, and some springs. I JUST did a group by for an Under Drive Pulley and still have 3 available. 145 for the pulley shipped or 200 for the complete set with 3 belts and front main seal shipped.

I will most definitely be interested in the full kit, but I'm going to have to wait a few paychecks first. My manifold is cracked, so does anybody have any recommendations on a replacement? Should I try and find factory or go for the $400 OBX headers on eBay? Will those drive fine without a tune?
