Dash lights -- need bulbs.

Dash lights -- need bulbs.
I have a 92 Maxima with analog dash. Many of the lights on the dash/console are not working -- heater control unit, switches, some of the stereo, etc. I removed a couple and went to my local Nissan dealer who politely told me that he cannot get any and that I would have to order the entire switch assembly and heater control unit in order to get the bulbs.
The bulbs are clearly designed to be replaceable, so I have a hard time believing what he is telling me. Can anyone tell me if and where I can get some of these.
Thank you for your help!!!

search the forum here
I've replaced all the bulbs in my switches that had burned out (hazard, fogs, defrost, cruise, etc) with some bulbs from Radio Shack
I believe the item number is 272-1092 but not 100% sure, search and you'll find it

Re: changing the bulbs
It is not very difficult at all, especially after you have done it once. I can get to the bulbs in less than 5 minutes now.
Go to this page and it will show you how to remove the console faceplate.

Once you have the console face plate removed you need to pull the heater unit face plate out by releasing the clips on the top and bottom. Now there are more clips on the top and bottom that actually release the control unit.
With these released you will be able to pull the control unit out about 1 inch, as it is connected to a circuit board by a short ribbon cable. It will come out just enough, however, to access the four bulbs that twist and pull out the back (small fingers help).
