raced my buddies 1.8T GTi, damn, did i lose big time.

i then raced a v6 accord, same one i raced a few weekends ago. well, i had him til second gear, then his vtec came one and i was on his back door when we finished.

 

whoa how in the hell did u loose to gti??????? or a v6 accord?????

i have a 89 max, 5spd, i beat a VR6 he saw my tail lights, and as fas V6 accord he was pretty close. Man check your car out, there must be something wrong with it.

 

Sorry, a 1.8T GTI and a V6 Accord would eat your car alive. The GTI runs mid-high 15s stock and the Accord can run with the VQ and VE..

 

hey..nice interior, where did you find the kit for a 3rd gen? also, what color is your gauge clusters dash?

 

I did everything my self the gauges are original white, silver dash board.

 

well the gti's will run in the 15's all day at the 1/4 mile strip...the v6 accords also run low 16's stock at the strip...sorry but you can't be that suprised that he got beat...

 

is that a aluminum dash, or did you spray paint it?

i've killed V6 accords man. it's not that hard. I've never raced a V6 accord in a standard though. i don't even think they make em in a stick do they? i dunno, but it's been close a few times, but it's not that hard. then again, everybody bit@#es about bmw's and i beat 3 series all day long. what's the deal?

I walked on a 93' Accord 5-spd that my neighbor had. And i was only running off 5 cylinders, because i was having valvue guide problems with my # 6 cylinder.
I also walked on a 5-spd 89' Prelude.

so how the hell did you 190hp maxima beat a v6 accord with vtech. But i like your steering wheel, i think i'll do that.

 

OK , Number one i dont have 190hp, i have a vge plus few mods i have 175, and a 5spd, Accord has 200 auto, i timed my car it does 0-60 7.4, the new maxima does 7.1 , show me an accord that comes close.

 

hey, I am just wondering how when your VG has 175 hp...it runs a 7.4 0-60 This is because I just checked and the VE 5spd runs 7.6 (with 190 hp) and the ppl at Motor Trend doing it like a hundred times to get the best time... That was also when the car was new. Do you have soemthing other then hp that makes you run faster?

a ve 0-60 in how much 7.6????? u must be nutssssssss, man f***k those motor trend people, are you aware that a maxima SE from 92-94 has the same engine as 95-99, except for few minor mods. the 3rd gen maxima weighs nearly 350 lbs less so if the new max does 7.1 how in the hell does the 94 does 7.6????? please explain, and im not just talking out of my a$*!s my friend has 93 SE 5 spd we timed his it was 6.9 so i dont know where you get your fact from and his is stock.

 

Sith, you never raced a 5spd "5 cylinder" accord. Honda has never made a v6 accord with the option of a manual transmittion....

 

oh man whats wrong with you, i said the maxima is 5 spd not the accord, lets just put it this way, if you cant beat an accord something is wrong with your car.

now, my car only has the cone filter, same goes for the accord v6 auto. his was a mid 90's model. other than that, my car is basically stock. as i've said, i had a good launch and had him thru second gear, changed to 3rd and
he takes off - did mid 90's v6 accord have vtecs? anybody know?

maximum5spd - what do u have in your max?

i'm planning on either a vg-t engine or a built na vg.

i said a 93' 5spd Accord, and that I (me) was running off 5 cylinders. Well my 6th was running but mostly burning oil and coughing, because it didn't like Chevron Supreme gas. We lined up at a stop sign. A ways ahead my lane merged into his. They say go while i'm fiddling with my Auto switch to put it into power. And he takes off spinning his wheels alittle, i look up and say f*ck and gun it. And i still got infront of him to merge safely.

we also both gunned it from 75mph. I still walked on him from there.

 

The 92-94 se has 190hp.

 

If you did research you find that the 92-94se runs 6.7 according to our beloved nissan makers posted in their 1992 ad campaign. the 95-99 maxima's have a completely different engine. the 95 5 speed was 0-60 in 6.6. These numbers fluctuated up to 7.1 thru the next couple years. These #'s are backed up by a multitude of magazine tests. I as the proud owner of a 92SE realize, I am the proud owner of a car that does 0-60 in the same time as the 2001 maxima even with it's extra 32 hp, and aluminum block! If I could fin the problem...
