i just took apart my dash as ive done before to replace the lights behind the gauges, ok so i put everything back together and then reconnect the battery but now i cant turn the key the wheel is locked cant shift and the brake pedel is impossible to push in, Somebody please tell me how to correct my problem.

i have had the steering wheel lock up before and usually you can turn it just a tiny bit and then you are able to turn the wheel but thats not the case this time. any possible solutions will be greatly appreciated. thanks

thats happened to me a million times
eventually i just manages to turn the wheel a bit then it started
that kinda **** used to **** me off before i realzied what it was

It sounds like the safety lock on the steering wheel...You can move the wheel a little and then it will allow you to turn the key. Most of the time if it is where it is hard to turn it is because it is in a bind and is barely locked and causing pressure toward the lock side.

See if you can wiggle the wheel back a forth (it should move just a tad and take pressure off the key assm.) and that will allow you to turn the key which will unlock the wheel.

thanks for replying shortly after i posted i was able to get it unlocked, but i couldnt get on the org to say that i had figured it out. yeah i have my steering wheel lock before and usually there is a little movement but this one was solid but i just had to pull the wheel way over and then turn the key like you said, it just didnt seem to work for me the first few times, then i was like what the f%ck. but its good to know you have a place to turn when you have silly questions.
