Need advice from guys that have replaced exhaust manifold studs
Need advice from guys that have replaced exhaust manifold studs
I got the front manifold off, and the first two studs on the passenger side were broken. I'm taking the manifold to a shop today for a cleanup cut across the flanges, but I'm still wondering whether or not to do the other manifold. There don't appear to be any broken studs on it, and in order to get at some of them, it looks like I'd have to remove the intake collector. My question is, would I be better off making sure that all 6 nuts on the back side are snugged down and hope they last, or take it off and risk breaking one or more studs by removing them?? Thanks.

I would go ahead and replace them all in one fell swoop, since they're going to break anyhoo... I think the Z31 studs are what you need (Going by memory, and I haven't had my second coffee yet this morning)
It's a common problem, I have to do it for my Max too, but since I don't have any friends that'll touch it on my car, I gotta bring it in
