Another question on exhaust manifold studs

I did the search (several times), but didn't see this addressed: I just put in my new turbo studs (part# 14065-V5004), but they are a little shorter than the original. There is not enough thread to use both the thick washer and the domed lockwasher (which were there originally). My question for you guys that have replaced these is, were you able to use both washers with the turbo studs? The factory nut is a locknut itself, so do you really need the domed washer? The service manager at the Nissan dealer said he's done a lot of these, and he only uses the thick washer. However, he also tried to tell me that the thick washer was domed, which it isn't. I'm waiting to torque the nuts until I hear from someone, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

just use the flat thick washer. leave the dome one off. the nut is oval at the end to lock it on the stud.
good luck.

Mine only had the fat washers on it to begin with, so I just used those. I did notice that the turbo studs are shorter also.

Thanks to all who responded. I don't really have much choice but to leave out the domed washer - just wanted to see if anyone else had problems doing it that way. Thanks again.
