DashLights Went Out. Help Quick!
Hiya Guys,
Last night I'm cruising as usual and all of a sudden my dash lights and all the console lights in my car go out. When I push the brake they come back on, I take my foot off the break they shut off. I'm like WTF is going on. I noticed that my Washer Light LED's are also doing the same thing. Now they are completely off and wont' come on if I hit the brake or not. The warning lamps come on though, Like if I take the O/D off, or put the brights on or the emergency brake on. The headlights work, the corner lights work, high beams work, fog lamps work also. I'm not sure if it's a fuse or not. When I put my alarm on the Washer LED's do blink. But they don't come on when I turn on my headlights like they used to. I shrug my shoulders because I have no clue why this would just happen all of a sudden. Maybe it's something simple or maybe its not. Any help would be appreciated so when I bring it to my mechanic I know what I should be telling him to look for.

I just checked the tailights, reverse lights, spoiler brake lights, and turn signal lights. Everything is fine in that department. The dash lights are still totally dead, they don't come on at all even when the headlamps are on.
One other weird thing that happened right after these lights went out last night was even when the headlights were in the off and I hit the brake the dash lights came on. Weird!
But now they are totally dead. so who knows.

the dash lights are only in the same circuit as the taillights. ALl the other lights has nothing to do with your taillight or your dash lights. If the fuses all the fuses are fine, and all your taillights are actually working and lit, then you might want to check your dash dimmer switch.

Turn on your headlights and see if your tail lights are on at the same time. Also check and see if any of your tail light bulbs are blown. Don't just press the brakes and see if they're lighting up.
It definitely sounds like it's one of the bulbs in your tail lights.
After you've done that you'll probably see one of the bulbs not lighting up or something, which you have to replace, then replace your tail lamp fuse.

well like sudesh said make sure all your taillights are lit without pressing the brakes or anything like that. I assumed that you have already checked it and everything is fine there, if not then go check it NOW!! If the lights are really fine then, i would give up and just have someone fix it for me Cuz the circuit is most like dead and the last thing i want to do is crawl all over my car check everything.

Headlights on = nothing lights up at all in the back
Hit the brakes = both bulbs on each side light up.
Please help.

the fuse box is under the steering wheel next to the door.
the fuse you need to change is the one labeled tail lights
you will need a red (10) fuse for that (not sure those but it will say on the cover of the fuse box). YOu should have some spare fuses on the side of the fuse box if not then go and buy some from walmart. Sorry i should have told you to check your fuse in the first place so this thread wouldn't be that long. Sorry wasn't thinking straight

The "Tail Lamp" or "Tail light" fuse is located on the drivers side fuse box by your knee..pull off the cover and you'll see it, located the fuse and replace it, 15Amp I believe, I could be mistake, the fuse box cover will have a diagram of the fuses and what AMP's they are.

Look over your tail light bulbs for a bad bulb or bulbs. Replace the bulb before you replace the fuse. If you replace the fuse first and leave a bad bulb in, you'll probably blow the fuse again.

the bulbs are 1157..buy at least two extra and keep them as spares. The fuses are very cheap..less than a dollar..
Fix it now, if you drive like that at night, you'll get a ticket for your tail lights not working.
