i was drivin home yesterday after going clubbing, it was about 3 am, in bum**** illionis, no traffic out so i was cruzin along about 105 er so, making damn good time. i hear my radar detector go off, so i slow down a bit till i can tell what is it. it shuts up. so i start speadin back up from 90... about 3 seconds later i see a car's head lights turn on from in the median (bum bum bummmmm) instantly i slow wayyyyyy down. about 70... course i am way ahead of the guy and sit there for like 30 seconds before he even pulls up behind me.

got a ticket for 35 over.....

any reccomendations

i think i am going to get my spedo calibrated.. (and bribe the guy for it to be 20 mph off )

but i need some other arguments, i gotta get out of this ticket, or at least bring it down to somethign reasonable

I've heard that you can avoid getting any points on your lisence by overpaying your ticket. A Friend of mine recently got a ticket for 15 over the limit and overpaid it....because the check was for the wrong ammount after cashing it they couldnt continue to take off the points. Im not sure exactly how it works but I've herd of a few cases when it has worked. I'd send them a check for like $5 over.

 

Go ahead and do that and they will give you the points and take your extra money. That thing is a old rumor, it doesn't work. Even if it did work at some point, don't you think they would have had enough sense to fix it by now, after all these years?

you pay $5 over. they will send u a check....u don't cash the check. after 90 days the check is stale (voided)..your 5 bucks goes to unclaimed property. you get what's coming to you and u lost out on 5 bucks.
